Verizon FIOS Motorola 6200-2 HD box remote freezes
When I turn on the box, remote light would stay on, clock would freeze and I have to unplug it to clear the HD FIOS box (It does not happen to SD box). After reset it would work all day until the next morning. Verizon has replaced the box but it still happens. No changes were done to the wiring and all was working for a year before problem occured.
Re: Verizon FIOS Motorola 6200-2 HD box remote freezes
I'm a verizon employee currently working at a customer's house. just swapped out 3rd 6200 stb, the channels will seemingly change on their own(scrolling) after pressing the remote just a few times. the root of the problem is that the remote is not responding to the stb in the first place properly. all i can figure is that there is some type of ir interference. i've placed the remote 1" from the stb and the same problem exists. it's not the box and the remote is brand new, tried 3 remotes as well. there is something going on in the atmosphere around the box - in or outside the custmer's house. they were on vacation and when they came back this is the trouble they were having. i don't have an answer, just some type of possibilities. there is a power transformer outside on a pole approx. 100' from the house and we had bad storm related issues in the past week. i know it's a stretch, but you never know. could be surround sound/ stereo equipment generating some kind of field??????????? good luck.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

TRY Unplug receiver. Leave for 10mins. Plug in again. Wait another 10 mins. Press the hand control stand by button. In a few minutes the light should turn green and start options should appear. Good luck. This works when my HD box freezes.
"210" kind of works, but can't compete with Mr. Bond.
After programming "007", if there are any features of you FiOS remote that do not work on the HK AVR 354 remote, simply follow the HK AVR 354 manual instructions to "learn" additional commands. See the last paragraph on page 31 through letter "e" on page 32.

If you can first connect the Fios box via component and that will rectify the issue and still allow HD. HDMI is funny, if there is anykind of communication issues between the TV or the Fios box you see what happens. You might also call Samsung to see if there is ANY firmware/software updated for your TV specifically to fix such an issue with the Fios/Mortorola connection. If there isn't then the issue is the cable box since the TV works ok on HDMI with other devices.
I finally found a fix to this! YAY. I thought I might have to return the TV. I have the Phillips 42PFL5603D, but should work for other models.
On the TV press menu
picture settings---picture---dynamic contrast (turn off) AND active control, turn off
If you have Comcast Moto box:
on the Cable box go menu--->setup--->cablebox set up---RF BYbass set to ON If you have a non-Comcast Moto Box, I'm sure there is an RF bypass setting in the menu. You'll just have to look for it. Another fix was close saying to only turn of the active control, but it took all 3 of these for it to work consistently. The latter let it work for all of 30 seconds.
On the verizon FIOS tv box, turn the FIOS STB on, and turn on the tv, tap the following buttons on the Verizon FIOS STB )in this order) 1-Power, then Select, then Menu. This will bring up the FIOS STB HD options. Arrow down to 4:3 Bypass and set the bypass option to 480P. Hit power 2 times, once to turn off, second time to turn STB back on. This should on standard channels give you the zoom feature back. This worked on my Samsunf 5053 TV model.
