Where did you buy it from ? if they have return policy, then return the unit. It's a fire hazard if the thermal fuse doesn't trip. I have the same printer and have no problems with it, only it sucks alot of power.
Samsung does have a Warrenty on the printers maybe contact them and see how they will fix it for you.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

The C8 is a fuser error. As a safety feature, the machine will be disabled (to prevent fire and what not.. )
The service manual says that SC542 is caused by a too low fuser temperature, after 5 readings.
Since the hot roller was 5°C below the reload
(operating) temperature the fusing thermistor is deformed or out of position or full of gunk (toner residue). Or there may be a piece of paper between the sensor and the hot roller.
The fusing lamp harness can also bee loose, broken or defective.
The fusing unit can be defective
After servicing the machine to solve the problem, the service
technician must execute a "Fuser SC Reset". Otherwise, the machine
will continue to issue this SC code and cannot be operated.
Executing Fuser SC Reset
1. After correcting the problem, open Smart Organizing Monitor.
2. Enter the service mode to display the Service Mode screen.
3. On the Service Mode screen, click [Fuser SC Reset]. This releases the fatal fusing error
which locks the machine.
4. Select "On" for Fuser SC Detect. This setting shuts down the machine if three successive
paper jams occur in the fusing unit.
This model has an upper fusing roller & a lower pressure roller.
If you have a print quality issue (that you have narrowed down to the fuser unit) then you will need to replace the upper fusing roller (not an easy job best to replace the fuser unit complete)
check fuser pressure roller shaft may worn out and also check how is upper roller and bushing together if they r not ok then replace them all then u may need to reset byt your key steps #*c* choose 14 press start button will reset this error and your machine will be ok this error is for fuser motor rotation abnormal because your fusing unit is tight try it and let me know
The code means that the fuser unit the hot part which fuses the toner to the paper is not getting the 117VAC or120VAC power to the heating lamps inside the upper fusing roller and or bottom. Fusing unit uses heat and pressure to fuse the toner to the paper.
E1 -exposure lamp abnormal
E2-fusing thermofuse open
E3-hot roller thermistor open
E4 -hot roller thermistor short
E5- pressure roller thermistor open
E9- pressure roller thermistor short
E7 -fusing overheat
To reset accesing SP 41 and changing the date from 1 to 0 must be done to clear these service call condition.
99% the problem is in fusing section. The fuser fixing film is not well lubricated or even damaged. It has to be replaced with new one, or just cleaned and lubricated again. Also there can be a problem with pressure roller, or pressure roller bushings, but you have to disassembled the fuser to see.
SC544 error means Fuser Overheat Error 1 (Hardware). This has happened due to Fuser Low Temperature which occurs due to Abnormal Hot Roller Fusing Lamp Lower Limit Temperature Detected. Try turning off & unplugging the copier for 10-20 minutes to check if error code resets. If it doesn
Probably not much you can do yourself....as there are 2 possibilities here. First there is the possibility that you have lost fusing pressure. The fusing unit in this machine using a combination of heat and pressure to "fuse" the toner onto the paper. You may have broken a fuser frame which is a common problem on the 220. This cause the fusing rollers to loose their pressure against each other and thus stop fusing. This usually causes poor or no fusing more on one side than the other. You might want to let me know if the toner wiping off is consistent accross the entire page.
The other possible cause is your thermistor set is bad. The thermistor reds the temperature of the fuser rollers so the machine knows when they are up to the proper temperature for fusing. I some circumstances I have seen them go bad and always register to the machine that the fuser is hot enough when it is not.
Either way you are going to have to be comfortable with removing the fusing unit from the machine and then dis-assembling parts of it in order to repair it. If you are interested in trying this you can reply to this post and I can at least give you the part numbers you might need depending on what you find.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
