Question about Sega Genesis Console

1 Answer

Sega problem I am not sure but i believe that i might have a short in one of my cables. But when i hook up the console, it turns on but there is never any picture, just a blue screen or a black screen. I cleaned everything from the games to the console but still no luck. I had actually left a game in over night and it turned on and had picture, so i got excited and went to change games, and then no picture again. WHAT DO I DO?

2q== they have videos on Youtube on how to hook Sega genesis version 1 2 and 3 consoles on up to a flat screen tv or any of the newer TV's. I just use a CRT style TV they are much easier to hook up old consoles too. Just buy a CRT tv type then.

I have a sega genesis 1 and I bought an av cable because the RF cable is missing. Well I hooked it up and plugged the white and yellow cable in the front of the tv. I put it on channel 3 like the console...

Are you sure it should be on channel 3? Not a TV input mode? Also it could be that the console is shot. Or the cables don't work with the console itself.

How can I hook my sega genesis console to my Direct tv box?

Don't plug your Genesis into your satellite box. Plug your Sega into the back of your TV set. Get a Sega Genesis composite video cable. Run that cable from the mini-DIN connector on the back of your Sega to the RCA (yellow, red white) connectors on the back of your TV set. If you don't have any spare RCA connectors on your TV set, try a composite video switch.

Whenever I turn on my game i just get a black screen, I'm guessing its my RF adapter, any ideas on how to hook it up a different way?

Well i used the av cables to hook up my sega because the av cables are easier to hookup to a tv then and are not a pain either.

How to hook sega genesis up to a flat screen tv

You need to hook up the cable coming in from the outside to one end of the Sega RF cable and hook the male end of the RF connector from the Sega into the cable input on the TV.On the back of the game console there is a channel selector switch. It is either CH3 or CH4 which is what your TV needs to be on when you turn on the console. If one looks bad try switching the channel selector on Sega and on the TV.
Good luck and game on!

Need step by step directions to hook up a 16 bit Sega Genesis

There should be two plugs on the back of the sega. One for the power cord, and one for the audio/video cord. The audio/video cord is a coax cord with a little box in line. Hook your cable or antenna cable into the jack on the box and hook the end of the cable from the sega into your tv. There will be a switch on the sega or on the box somewhere that designates channel three or four, this is what channel your tv will need to be on to use the sega.

Sega master system 2

Hi, Sega master system 2 are connected to your TV via an RF cable. One end is RCA which connects to your console the other end is Pal which connects to you TV's antenna inlet if your using the sega RF switch then the RF switch connects to your antenna inlet on your TV and you should have a RCA to RCA cable which connects the console to the switch. Please note these cables and power adaptors can in some cases be faulty. These console are manually tune to VHF-1 frequency so make sure your TV has this frequency. some do tune to UHF but most tune to VHF-1 if you need parts or what your console modified to allow it to connect to your TV's AV inlet or S-Video visit www.gameoz.com.au as they stock a huge range of Retro gear.

You need an RF Switch. Any kind will do. Sega model 3035 came with your console. Sega model 1603 or Nintendo NES-003 will also work. The RCA plug goes in the back of the console and the lead that looks like cable tv goes on the tv. If your tv does not have the right connection you can purchase an a/v cable that will work.
