Paper shredder wont shut off (by 2 users)

I have a GBC Model # 960 paper shredder that will not shut off any suggestions on troubleshooting it? Thanks

I read somewhere to clean the sensor windows with methylated spirit. It works for a while but then the problem returns Any more permanent solutions would be welcomed
