I need to upgrade the RAM on my motherboard. I have a 512mb at the moment. Can I add 3 more 512mb as there are 4 slots? Will they work together or do I need to purchase one bigger card?

You can add 3 x 512 MB, or 1 x 512 MB and 2 x 1 GB. Check if you need DDR1 or DDR2.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If thishelps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonialfor my response.

I am going to upgrade ram to 1 gb. can i use ddr2 1 gb ram to upgrade .motherboard is microstar model ms-6526 ver: 2 . present ram is ddr1 400 MHz, 512 MB

If your computer has two RAM slots on the motherboard, i would recommend trying it. The computer will run on the 512MB stick alone and just not recognise the other stick. And if it works it works.

I have searced for support documentation and came up with none for the original MS-6526

I run my original version MS-6526 on a 512MB PC2300 (DDR1) and a 512MB PC3200 (DDR1) and it runs just fine for games and videos.

Personally I would recommend trying the DDR2 first and if that fails, return the card and get a DDR1 card. They are expensive, but at least they work.

Very slow boot

Bruce, the Dell OptiPlex GX260 normally will be equipped with a PC133 DDR1 128MB RAM module. It is recommended that you upgrade to higher memory bus DDR1 memory module, for example, 512MB/1GB DDR 1 running on 266 MHz to 533 MHz.

Hope this helps. Make sure u come back here if u still have further request.

Asrock K7VM2 Motherboard Memory Upgrade

Some MOBO support different type of memory modules like ddr 400, 333,533 and other, if your computer is working fine with that PC400 it only means that your MOBO is compatible with it. Since you're planning to upgrade the memory just get another PC400 because the memory should be the same to work fine.

Compaq Desktop Sr1520NX

Hi nordicwookie,
The main point here is to match the 512MB already installed into the PC. You can buy from either of these web sites. (Click on the link). This site offers free shipping.
http://www.techgiant.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=search.memorySearch2&model_id=53265
&
here.
http://shop.kingston.com/modelsinfo.asp?SysID=24218&mfr=HP%2FCompaq&model=Presario+SR1520NX&SUBMIT1=Find

You want 512MB of memory which will give you a total of 1GB.
Though a suggestion if I may. If you are going to run or are running Vista, suggest you go higher. 1.512GB. This is listed on the Kingston.com site. (This is only a suggestion).

Good Luck! nordicwookie

Ram upgradation for 845glad mother board

Hi! If you have orignal Intel D845 then you need ram less than 333 Mhz (Around 266mhz or so) and do remember to check that it is advisable not to use RAM of more than 1GB as you won't be able to find a 1GB RAM(DDR1) with 266 Mhz or less.
