Please don't tell me it's SO old they deny ever having made the thing! Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover Legacy 830 – Model #U5079-910 The vacuum model is not that old and I would suggest that you contact your local vacuum dealer to see if they have a new or a good used metal piece that would work or contact the Hoover Co and they could send you a owners manual or instruct you to download the manual from the Hoover website. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.hoover.com Telephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST www.A-1Vacuum.com 1-800-657-1874 If you cannot find a local dealer near you they can ship you the parts UPS. How do I remove outer bag of oreck vacuum cleaner XL 9000W and how do I clean it? Removable bag broke and outer bag filled up with dirt.

If there is a bag dock on it, seperate large part of bag dock from smaller one, by squeezing bottom of bag dock to release tabs from larger one. Pull smaller part of bag dock apart and off of vacuum. Bag will now release from hole. If there is no bag dock, there is a metal piece around hole that is holding other bag on.

I unscrewed the 4 screws on the bottom of my gen 3 mistakenly trying to replace wheels. now it turns on sometimes when the on button is pushed and sometimes it doesn't. is there an easy fix?

Easy fix... wow... um.. maybe.

I think that you may have accidently disconnected the metal arm between the foot pedal and the actual switch. Its not a problem, but you will have to open the top of the kirby unit to see if it has been disconnected or not. we are trying to get to the area above the wheels but below the foot switch.

first, take the handle and the bag off the unit and lay them down.
next, take the plastic covering around the switch off, you will need a flat screwdriver to take that off. the pry spot is just above the switch where you can slide in the screwdriver.
next, lift up the light and remove your belt/brush attchment off the front of the unit.
remove the 2 screws at the top portion looking just above the shaft sticking out of the unit.
remove the 2 screws behind the foot switch
you should see what looks like a 7/L chrome metal bar going between the footswitch and an orange plastic piece inside the unit where the bag goes. it should be inside the orange plastic piece and inside the lower portion of the footswitch.

I think that when you dropped the wheels it may have come off of the footswitch. re-attach and you should be good to go.

Good luck.

The scubbers do not spin

Just fixed mine which had same problem. A little clear piece of plastic inside the middle of the handle had cracked. This piece holds the switch in place and is probably made to fail. Make sure you unplug the machine before opening it. If you take off the carrying handle you can get the top half of the machine to come off. Set it aside. Now look into the top of the bottom half and see if your switch housing cracked like mine did. It cracked where it screws down so there was nothing to hold it anymore. (The black switch unplugs, BTW.) If you are creative, this can be fixed by drilling two small holes to affix the switch to the clear part again. We also made a metal plate to hold down our clear piece. Happy fixing! :)

GoVacuum.com can also special order any part that you require. I hope that this helps you. The Sanyo uprights are pretty good quality, inexpensive vacuum cleaners. They use metal in all the right places, and last longer, unlike models that use just plastic.

I have an L shaped piece of metal with a hole at one end that fell out of my hoover elite bagged upright vaccuum cleaner. I repaired the belt but don't know where this metal piece goes. I think it has...

This metal clip was for the wheel assembly, but not always needed. you can diregard the part if your vac is working correctly with the front wheels.

Oreck xl 9100 bag wont stay on using type cc replaced inside bag hanger

What year model?

Pre-late 1990s, bag on upright just fit over the adapter in the tube.

Lat 1990s, went to a version that had a sliding piece of paper to cloe off the bag & prevent spillage, and required a hinged plastic piece for chipboard piece on bag to slide into.

Must have right bag for the unit, otherwise it will not stay on, will leak.

Shark Pursuit Euro-pro X vacuum cleaner, 12 amp, upright model

This vacum cleaner is equipped for auto shut off when it gets hot , It gets hot when it gets clogged either the little sponge filter is to dirty or the the round white filter in the dust collecting container.

But if they are both clean then it is clogged in the line probably with lot of carpet fiber, in that case you ned to take the dust container out and possibly the assembly from bottom like when you change the belt, then take of the Handle where the flex hose is attached, then you gonna need a wire hanger bend a long shape close to the shape of the hose line from handle to where it curved around in the bottom opening where it collects the dust behind the spin brush the just stick the hanger from the handle side cause the clog is probably in the lower side then just push the clogs out . Be care full not to puncture the flex hose with hanger. Its probably a good idea to bent the tip of the hanger so that it wont poke hole in the flex hose.

That's what happened with mine I spend hours and hours and days to figure it out. I could have just through it away, but it just kind a pissed me off and the War was on as stubborn as i am, but finally I won and I got the satisfaction of the sweet victory.

Waste lot of time though but it just one of those things. It never messed with me again.

But that is what's wrong with it. Good luck it a good vacum though very power full.

Kirby Belt Lifter Assembly

I have tried to get a parts breakdown for your vacuum cleaner with no success. The way that then washers should go is the flat smotth metal washer on the inside followed by the fibre washer and the wavy washer on the outside. The waves are used to bite into the plastic so it cannot work loose.

Kirby diamond edition - shampooer

1. Raise the vacuum head all of the way up. 2. Remove the vacuum head by removing the belt and releasing it. 3. Place the shampooer head on the vacuum by securing the clamp and them put the belt on 4. Take the bag off of the vacuum by twisting at the base just slightly outward and lifting upwards and unclamp it from the handle 5. Put water and cleaner into the water resevoir. 6. Put the reservoir on to the kirby where the bag was by holding it parallel to the vacuum then using both hands, twist it outward slowly until it goes down onto the unit then twist back to parallel position. 7. Put the coil looking piece on the shampooer head on top where the hole is...it will only fit one way successfully. 8. Put the other end on the under side of the water reservoir. 9. Lower the shampooer head all of the way down on the carpet just like you would the vacuum head 10. Turn on the vacuum and reach down and turn the knob at the top of the reservoir, this will begin putting cleaner (tons of foam) onto the carpet. Just work in 3' x 3' sections, turning off the foam intermitently until you are finished. I hope this helps.
