Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Hi, I have the Xerox Phaser 7700GX. I have a scrolling message that says 'cartridge 1,2,3,4 is missing' and tray 4 is missing. I've tried troubleshooting through Xerox'x support site - where I've switched it off and on, opened and closed all doors and trays and reseated the 4 cartridges. This doesn't appear to work. Thanks.

    I've reinstalled the correct software.
    Restarted both my computer and printer.
    Unplugged, opened and closed all the doors and drawers of the printer and switched on again.
    But I'm still getting the same message...

    Anymore suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

That really sounds like corrupted software
Go to Xerox.com
Click "support and drivers"
Enter "phaser 7700" then click the orange "search"
Then "drivers and downloads"
Scroll to "firmware update"
Download it and follow the instructions to load your printer software.
That should correct your problem.

Xerox phaser 8560 printer is saying waste tray missing but it is not


Are you sure you are looking at the waste tray, and not the paper tray? Here is a link to the user manual for the printer. Information about the waste tray is on page 194. This should give you an idea of were it is located.

Xerox Phaser 7750 - Tray 1 streaks on prints


If you put Tray 2 in Tray 1's spot with the heavy stock in Tray 1 (now in tray 2's spot) and print from it, does the problem persist?

Phaser 7700GX getting yellow bar down the side of page on all prints


Try cleaning the Laser Unit for Yellow. Try replacing the Imaging Unit for Yellow, or simply take it out and move it to another color.... if the problem occurs on the the other color then it is definitely your Imaging Unit. One of those two is probably causing your issue.

"Print Error-Contact Service; Report Fault 7-401"??


Reset the Tray 2 feed counter within Service Diagnostics as follows:
1. Enter Service Diagnostics (back arrow botton with the "i" button soon as you turn it on) and scroll to NVRAM Access and press OK
2. Scroll to Reset CRU Life Counters and press OK. The display will show the status of all CRUs. Press OK until the Reset Counters menu is displayed.
3. in the Reset Counters menu select Yes and press OK.
4. Scroll to Tray 2 and press OK.
5. Exit diagnostics.

That's what worked for me I called a company called Iteminc they gave me the instructions and they told me to :Replace the tray 2 pick, feed and separate rollers before it starts jamming soon. www.iteminc.com is their website good luck give them a call if it does not work.

Unit 11 laser polygon motor failure


Most likely, all the problems you are experiencing are being caused by a bad laser motor assembly. We can send you a motor assembly for the laser unit and you can change it out yourself, however, we will have to charge for the entire unit since it makes one laser unit worthless. Print cartridge "missing"--NOT


Problem:
Cause:
Solution: thumbsup.gif Fixed! thumbsdn.gif Did not fix. TRY FIRST (Solutions without parts):
1. Door A not closed properly. - Open and close door A, then power cycle the printer and check for the error again.

2. The rails that the print cartridges slide in are misaligned or bent. - Remove the Transfer belt and all print drums, then check and re-align print drum rail guide. Then reassemble and verify proper operation.

3. Interlock actuator tab for the front door is broken off. - Check the interlock actuators on the front door if misaligned or broken then replace the front door, if they can be reconstructed then repair. Otherwise call for additional parts.

4. Cable connection to the Engine control board is not seated properly or fully. - Check all cable harness and wires to the Engine control board and make sure proper connection is made.



TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS AND HINTS:
Check all media trays, access doors, and front cover for proper closure and interlocks being disabled.

Phaser 7700 gx getting false errors all ove the printer


It might be somthing with the side cover not sitting right. If you feel comfortable doing it, remove and reseat the right side cover. I had a similar problem and this fixed it.
