Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Whirlpool AWM 8900 wont fill with water. Solenoid is ok but there is no power output to it from the control box. I fitted another control box from a known good machine but it still didn't fill. Eventually the machine displays "F" then "H" flashing. Note also that occasionally when the power is fist turned onto the machine the "no water" indicator is lit. Regards, Graham

Why does my washing machine not take in water? Can it be due the demo mode being set?

Have you connected the hoses correctly. If this ok and your washer is an electonic pc control you may have a faulty valve or solenoid as they are called.

It will be one of 2 things, a faulty inlet solenoid or an electronic controller issue, If you have a multimeter you can test the voltage supplied to the inlet solenoid and if there is voltage being supplied the valve is faulty, if there is no voltage then it is the electronics.

Whirpoll AWM 6000 does not take water.

What to check next is the water inlet valve. To do it, turn on the machine and start the filling cycle. If you cannot hear a faint buzzing or humming noise from the water inlet valve, the solenoid coil is not getting any power. Check it's wiring. If you can hear some noise, you need to replace it. Make sure to unplug the unit before doing any service.

The washing machine AWM 5104 does not fill with water, but the spin function is working ok. I have checked the hoses and cleaned the small wire filter.

madam not only cleaning the filter you should check the electric solenoid valve which will be fixed next to the filter. you can check it by giving power supply directly to the valve terminals,if it is working it will allows the water to flow-in or it wont then you should change it.

Whirlpool awm 8125/3 fault code FH

Probably too late, but here it goes:
FH means some cicle is taking too long time.
Replace the inlet electrical valve. It probably wont open enough and the water flow is not enough to fill to level in time. This should cost you 10€ and is easily done by anyone.
Just remove the top of the machine (two bolts on the rear and slide to the back), disconnect the valve (electrical and water input and output), push the lockers and twist the valve free.

Whirlpool ice maker

could be a problem with the ice maker itself or the water solenoid that controls the water.
the ice maker itself controls the solenoid. if there is a stuck contact, then water would continue to run.

if the solenoid has a leaky valve, water would still come in even there is no more power.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Washing cycle starts and takes hours even for short cycle.

Try checking for good water supply.
Pull out detergent tray and check for good water supply during filling.
if poor filling-
Try checking the hoses.
Turn taps off, disconnect from machine, place hose end in sink, turn tap on and check for good water flow.
if the hose has a red indicator in the side of the hose (end which is fitted to the tap) - Red indicator is a failed hose.(for models with Water Stop hose type "B")
