OLIN USB 2.0 2GB Memory Stick

Hi, I recently bought this new 2GB USBFLASH Drive for my computer, but when i stick it in it just tells me that I need to download software. But there isnt any software I can find for it, and the company I bought it off, says it should just work without installing any software. I put it into my work computer and it didnt do anything, even ask for software. My system is VISTA Basic, my work system is XP. When I put it into my friend scomputer who also runs XP, it worked. Came up strait away as an external drive. Do I need tol format it or something, Please Help !

If the drive has u3 on it, you need to run the u3 removal tool to remove out the non compatible U3 software from the drive so that it won't pop up on vista.

http://www.u3.com/uninstall/

If your drive doesn't have u3 on it, you could have a driver issue on your vista machine.

Cd rom. on comp. dont work can idown load software on line somehow

Spend about $35 to purchase a brand-new CD/DVD reader/writer.

Or, take a USB memory-stick, and the product CD/DVD disk, to another computer.
Copy all the files from the media onto the memory-stick.

On your computer, use the files on the memory-stick to install the software.

I want to transfer pictures from my toshiba laptop to a memory stick can you help please thank you

Insert your memory stick to your laptop, if your laptop has a memory stick slot or in the USB slot (if it is supported). If it doesn't have on you need a memory stick card reader. Insert your memory stick on a card reader then insert the card reader into the USB slot.

After that your laptop will prompt you and choose "view folder".

Now go to the folder where your pictures is located and choose the pictures you want to transfer and then right click on it and click "copy".

Go back to the folder of your memory stick, right click and then click "paste".

That should do it.

Thanks for using fixya!

My first laptop crashed and want to install mixvibes into my new laptop, but it doesn't have a cd drive, i still have the product key, too

Take a USB memory-stick and the CD-ROM media to a computer that does have a CD-drive.
Copy all the MIXVIBES files from the media to the memory-stick.

Move the memory-stick to your computer.
Install MIXVIBES from the files on the memory-stick.

When prompted, enter the product-key.

I have a laptop and was given an 10/100 fast ethernet notebook adapter. can I install on my laptop and how

You'll need another computer with Internet access, and either a USB port (for a USB memory-stick) or a CD-writer (and a "blank" disk).

Download the device-driver software for your adapter, and your Operating System,
and copy the files to the memory-stick or to the CD-R.

Take the memory-stick or CD-R to your computer, and run the software to install the device-driver.
Connect the adapter when the "installer" tells you to connect it.

Then, configure the "wireless" settings (SSID/password) to connect to your wireless router.

I cannot install MyMailList and Postage Saver software, because my computer will not read the CD

Spend $40 to purchase a new CD/DVD reader/writer, and install it.

Or, find another computer with a working CD-reader, and a USB port.
Find a USB memory-stick with about 600MB of "free" space.
On that computer, copy "everything" from the CD-ROM to a folder on the memory-stick.
Then, move the memory-stick to your computer, and install from that folder.

How do I use a memory stick to transfer homework on a laptop to my computer

Hi,

You will need to connect your memory stick to your laptop where the homework is stored. When you connect it, you should get a message asking what you want to do with the memory stick. If you cancel this and go to My Computer (if on Windows XP or Computer if on Vista or Windows 7), you should see your memory stick listed there under removeable devices. If it is not there, then there is a connection problem. Try removing and reconnecting the memory stick.

Once your memory stick is connected, go to where your homework is stored. Right click on the file, go to "send to" and then select your memory stick. The file should then copy over. If there are more files then do the same. Once completely copied over, you can remove your memory stick.

You then need to do connect the memory stick to your other computer. Go to My Computer and then open the drive under removeable devices. Select the files for your homework. Right click on any of them, choose copy. Go to where you want to save the files, right click and paste. They files should copy over.

Hope that is helpful and answers your query

Thanks

I have bought a new memory stick, I've never used one before and dont know how to use it to store and carry information correctly?

Just take a look at the back panel of your computer.
You would find 2 or more USB slots which are meant for your memory stick (we call it USB pen-drive as well).

Insert this memory stick into one of these slots. (Align the plastic side properly and it ll fit in easily).
Normally there is an LED light on the stick that glows when you connect it to the computer.

Now click on Start - (My) Computer
Or just press Windows+E

Alongwith the hard-drive & DVD-drive, you would find the Memory Stick icon there (manufacturer's name like Kingston, SanDisk etc would appear).
Double click on it to open and see whats stored inside (right now it would be blank as u v not stored anything in it)

Now you want to store something, say, a song in it,

Very simple. Just open the Music folder. Right click on your song. Click on Send To, and then click on the memory stick (removable media) name.

You can alternatively copy the song (right click on the song, click on copy), go to the memory stick drive (open My Computer, double click on stick icon), and paste the song there (again right click, click on paste).

Once the file is copied, disconnect the stick from computer.
Now your data is ready to travel with you.

I recently reinstalled windows vista home premium on my Acer Aspire 6390. I don't have any of the cds that originally came with the laptop, and was forced to use a different vista install disk. Now i...

Find another computer with a USB port and Internet access.
Find a USB memory-stick.
Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://www.acer.com
and search under "support" for "Aspire" and "6390".
Download the device-driver for the wireless adapter to the memory-stick (or burn to a CD-R or CD-RW).
Move the memory-stick (or "burnt" disk) to your Acer computer, and install from there.
Voila! Internet access.

Drivers for sony cybershot for windows vista

There are no drivers for Windows Vista for this camera, nor are there drivers for anything past Windows 98.

If you have a new computer with Vista loaded into it there is a slot for the memory stick in the front. Regardless of the computer the slot should read MS/PRO/DUO. Slip your memory stick in and a screen will pop up showing DRIVE H Memory stick and download from there.

If you have an older computer and upgraded to Windows Vistat there is an adapter you can buy that your memory stick slips into and then plug it in your USB slot. Software needs to be downloaded first from the site prescribed on the package.

I spent over 3 hours today trying to find drivers like you did until I got online and did a chat with a Tech from Sony. Its so simple its silly stupid. Had the slot right in front on my Dell Inspiron PC DUH !!! Good luck Same for Windows 2000 XP, with service pack 3 or 2 or anything past Windows 98 Hope this helps, it worked in a flash once I found out what to do.
