The adapter broke but the dvd player is fine. Is there any way to purchase a new adapter separately and if not are there any other possible solutions to finding a new power adapter.

What is the power voltage for the x235 got display model dosent have a power lead

There should be information about that cast into the outside of the display housing, Charlie, or it may be printed in insanely small print on the serial number label. Most likely, though, it'll be cast into the housing near the power jack. It'll also indicate polarity, but it won't tell you which size the power plug needs to be.

If you can't find the voltage & current requirements anywhere but you CAN find the little polarity indicator, you could buy a "universal" power supply with switchable voltage and polarity. Start with the power supply set to the correct polarity and the LOWEST voltage. If it doesn't work, step up one notch and try again. Increase voltage ONLY until the unit functions, and NO higher. Tape over the voltage selector switch when you have it right.

Att 882 power cord connector loose

If the plug (male) is smaller than the socket (Female) then it's probably the wrong model. You mentioned replacing the cord - be aware that in those low voltage power connectors there are a whole bunch of sizes. - you may have picked up one that is marginally different (hence the looseness) - electronic stores (Radio shack etc) usually carry switchable supplies (You need to know whether original is 3V, 5V, 6V etc...), and size of connector, and polarity (Whether it's positive on the centre or the outside. ) ALternatively, ring 1-800-722-9125 (ATT phone customer service). IF you look at something like
Amazon com Universal AC Adapter 15V 16V 18V 18 5V 19V 19 5V 20V 22V 24V... on amazon you will see what I mean by the diversity of connectors. Unless you have the original for comparision, it might be a crapshoot (i.e. wrong connector could "smoke" the phone - ATT customer may be best option.

CAN I USE A DIFFERENT ADAPTER TO CHARGE MY LAPTOP

There are aftermarket adapters that can be purchased cheaper than the ones provided from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, there is no standard for notebook charging adapters. This means there are many different adapters available, with differing plug sizes, voltages, and current ratings. Having lost your adapter makes this a problem, as you cannot get the information from the adapter. Go to the manufacturers website and see if you can find the specifications for the adapter. Output voltage, current, and plug polarity are the three important items to verify. You can use another adapter if the voltage and polarity match. The current rating is less critical, but should not vary from the manufacturer's specification by more than +/- 10%. Too little current rating will overheat the charger, too high may cause the battery to take charge too quickly and it could overheat.

I have a maxtor 120GB external hard drive but no power supply. How do I get a replacement? I tried a switchable power adapter from a local hardware shop and although I set the voltage to 12v it lights up...

Hi Dave.

The problem you are having is the adaptor you tried is the right voltage but not the correct ampage. You require a 12v dc adapter with a rating of at least 1-Amp. The switchable supply you purchased would be well under the required level, probably 400ma (milli-amp), in other words about half the needed amount. A cable modem power adapter would be sufficiant. If you have one, make sure it is the correct voltage and polarity, positive pole (+) usually the inner pin on the end of the connector. Hope this is of some help to you.

I lost my GE Ultrasonic 2.1 Speaker power adapter and i need need ones but i dont know what to buy, the voltage it requires..6 or 9 volts?

at most electrical stores you can buy a universal power adaptors with a selection of socents to fit most connections. and which has a selector on it for various voltages settings.
take one of the little connectors and see which one fits. then checking the polarity on your device set the polarity the same when plugging the connector into the power supply cable. adjust voltage as needed.

Warning: when connecting a variable power adaptor alway connect on the lowest voltage setting and work up as too high voltage can distroy your appliance.

I can't determine the polarity of my GPX PDL705 portable dvd

Hi,

I have uploaded the GPX PDL705 manual to this site today. If you check tomorrow they may have posted it by then.

If you look at the small print on the adaptor it should indicate by diagram Voltage output, current capacity, type and tip polarity by small diagram. Most adaptors are 'positive' -- but if you are unsure do not plug the adaptor into the device because it will fry it!

Modified power conector polarity.

I know what you're trying to do, and I don't recommend it. I've done some splicing, and had a few that burned up the machine, so I recommend buying a new power supply. Check Ebay, you can generally find one at a reasonable price. Here check this link to Ebay, they have your adapter for $16 and change. You can't beat that. So why take the chance of ruining the machine.
