I've unscrewed everything, it appears my last hold up is the 'monitor'. It appears that I need a 'key'. Does anyone know how disassemble the Gateway 7405GX laptop? I searched the Gateway manual, I don't think they want me pullin' it apart.

My overall problem is that the video card is toast, and was hoping that I could replace it. Having pulled it apart, I found that it's onboard. I'll post in another forum.

I would like to know this one. Never heard of a key to do that. It is usually just plugged in. Did you contact Gateway?
