Usually this is an alignment problem-these players get banged around alot-also they suffer from people pushing the DVD or CD down too hard and this makes the space between the laser and disk smaller and this makes it unreadable-may need to take to store to get fixed-you may also try to lift the plate that the disk sits on by a millimeter or so and try it-they get pushed down from putting disk on the plate-that may help -it can't hurt as it already does not work-good luck

try cleaning the lens with a lens cleaner cd, if this doesn't work the lens itself is scratched or faulty and you will need to buy another dvd player
SOURCE: PORTABLE DVD PLAYER NOT SPINNING DISCS AND SAYING NO DISC
When it is region lock it will say it on the display, if the player is not reading any disk, it is more likely a lens problem, see below:
Try first using a lens cleaner disk, like the ones here.
If
that does not work, the unit must be disassembled, and lense cleaned
with q tips and isopropyl alcohol or cleaning solution. See below:

I met the same problem after I used the small player (Serial No: 0506005934) for one more year. It did not read any DVD disc, and responsed as "bad disc". But it read all VCD disc fine right now.
