I am having the same problem. Replacing the battery is probably the only solution. However the battery is quite expensive ranging from $20 to $30 dollars even over the internet when you add S&H. You may want to retire this camera and buy one that uses inexpensive AA batteries. A comparable camera can be had for around $70 more or less and prices are slowly dropping on even better cameras. Good Luck!!!

my problem is that my digital zoom sometimes get stuck and i need to get the cd from somebody or find a link to get the software for it.
(it's true it doesn't keep a full battery charge too long it wears down when you take a lot of pictures and videotape stuff but it does take clear magazine pictures...

question can this camera be used as a webcam?????????

My charger does not work, I need a new one

Bear in mind that the Vivitar 5022 does not charge batteries. It uses standard AAA batteries. If you want to use rechargeables, you must charge them outside the camera using any AAA recharger such as those available at just about any department, electronics, or office-supply store.

Put battery in press on button nothing happens dose it need memory card in as well ?

This camera has 16MB of internal memory, so no card is required to make it work.

This has a rechargeable lithium battery. Rechargeable batteries don't last forever. Lithium batteries in particular can fail early if they are allowed to become totally discharged.

Are you sure the battery is charged? You don't say if this is the first time you have used this camera- if it is new, the battery will have to be charged before you use it. They are supplied new in an uncharged state.

I own a vivitar T 324 and go through batteries constantly. Do I need to use a special battery for the camera to last longer than about a dozen pics?

Some of the early Vivitars using AA batteries had a reputation for going through them quickly. The best batteries for these cameras are high capacity NiMH rechargeables. These can last longer than alkaline types, per charge, and of course are reusable, so they work out a lot cheaper. Look for ones marked 2300mAH or 2700mAH, and get two sets so that one can be on charge while using the other. You can buy sets of these with a charger quite cheaply these days.

Can you charge a vivitar camera on a computer

It depends on the model. The 5022 uses AAA batteries, disposable or rechargeable. However, the camera does not incorporate any charging circuitry; if you use rechargeable batteries you'll have to recharge them outside the camera.

Vivitar vivicam 4000 replacement battery required.

Hello,

Here's one I found that works:

http://www.buy.com/prod/kodak-easyshare-rechargeable-camera-battery-lithium-ion-li-ion-photo/q/loc/33409/90130097.html

(Kodak part # 8499741)

Don't recall where I found the info that it works as a replacement, but I've been using it successfully since July 2007. Don't know yet if I'll experience the same "memory" problem I had with the original battery.

Good luck!

Not switching on

Sounds like you need a new battery, even if you charged it.
If it is a rechargable, they go bad and act the way you say.
If it not a rechargable battery try new ones.
If that won't work leave the batteries out of the camera for 24 hours, and try it with fresh batteries.

are you using rechargable batteries if not use them the normal batteries do not last long and to be honest are no good with digital cameras. if you are using rechargable batteries let them charge for at least 5 hours before you use them
