Dell Monitor green 1 in bottom left panel

Recently had my computer shut down and crash and called for support which didn't help. Reconnected a few things and now it's back up however there's a green 1 light that's ilt on the bottom panel of the monitor next to the circular buttons and I have no idea what's going on. Any insight would be helpful.

User mode window (for adjusting the contrast, brightness etc) appears again again automatically.

First off... I would Re-Start your computer...OR...Shut down manually... to see if this fixes your problem. It's possible your computer didn't accept the changed setting? But...what you are experiencing is a Corrupt File, which will need to be removed!

Not sure exactly what you did? Where you trying to adjust the contrast, brightness, etc,.?

If you went through your Desktop to adjust these settings, always make sure you select APPLY and OK..

If you went through your System to Change your Resloution, you may have a Conflict with your chipset or even Malfunctioned it?

If re-starting your computer didn't fix your problem, than shut your computer down again!

Upon,..Re-booting...This time hold the Control Key down, so you can get into SAFE MODE!

I would then do a SYSTEM RESTORE under (SAFE MODE) and Restore your computer back to an earlier period that your computer was working correctly! Even, if you cleared the problem on the first step provided! Just type in the search box in your Control Panel System Restore! Or you can type in at the START Button...System Restore!

Also, while in SAFE Mode...go to your Device Drivers in your Device Manager and check for any setting that have a yellow symbol next to them...Click on each one and Update the Drivers!

Always, make sure...you Re-Start your computer after doing any changes...!

If you need further assistance, please don't hesistate to reply back to me! I'll be happy to help you!

Kind Regards!

Samsung Sync Master 943bw monitor shuts down after a few minutes, behaves as though it is overheating, will only flash briefly if attempted to open immediately. starts again after standing for some...

Mine shut down during my normal working day. Same thing, turn it off and on again - screen flashes up briefly then flicks off again.
Called Samsung and they are replacing it with a refurbished screen under warranty.

LCD monitor shuts down every after 2-3 seconds

dustcore025, Need a little more info here. Do you know age of monitor? Was it or did it display a "perfect' image on it the day before? Is it under warranty? How far are you willing to go to try and repair this thing? Do you know how to "part" the snap together plastic back cover from the bezel, after removing the pedestal? This sounds to me like a Switch-mode-power-supply or Inverter problem that occurs when some Electrolytic Filter Capacitors get a little bit TIRED of being constantly subjected to high temperatures near heatsinks that are used to keep semiconductors within operating limits. You can determine how bad this may be if you can do a test and remember what happens. Here is what to do. Make sure PC is fully booted displaying WIN desktop or some other screen. Next, with someone to keep hitting the CTRL or SP bar key every 20-40 seconds while you reconnect both cables of your MM17 back to the PC video port and ac outlet. Now try to turn on the monitor and note exactly what you see and for how long. Did it have a sharp clear image, even for 1-2 seconds? did the screen go black? OK! Next thing is to shine a bright flashlight onto the screen 2 inches away from where you know there was something a few seconds ago. Try it at different angles and not if you see anything. get back to me with results of test. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel @ aol.com BYE for now.

My new 21' flatscreen monitor keeps shutting off :(

Usually when an LCD display shuts off on it's own this can be a power supply issue. I would say if you checked all the connections you may want to contact the manufacturer. If it is only a few months old then you should be able to get it replaced under warranty.

Also, you may have an auto shut off feature enabled on the display itself. You may want to go through the display's menu to very that this is not the case.

LCD Shuts down

The monitor screen may be OK, but the monitor electronics are not. YOu state that the comuter works fine with a different monitor. That leaves out the video card. If you reall ywant confirmation of a bad  monitor, Try it on another computer ansdI am willing to bet that it  will again shut off.  Take it to a shop for repair or replace it.

Your C5707 transistors in the monitor have failed. Suggest replacing all four with the Sanyo C5707 transistor. A common problem.
