Hello,
Welcome to FixYa.
The E13 error code on the WFMC series Bosch washer`s refer to a drainage problem, as you may or may not already know. ( or in Bosch terms "pump time exceeded" )
What you may have is either a clogged pump, improper detergent being used, ( must use "HE"/lo-sudsing detergent ) hence suds not allowing a proper drain cycle, or wires loose at the pump...the later being the least likely.
You haven`t mentioned if you`ve checked the pump...this is most likely the reason the door won`t open. It`s by design.
Anyway, here`s the most likely way to remedy a E13 code.
**Unplug the washer from the wall or turn off the breaker before attempting any repairs**
Get some towels and if possible a wet/dry vac. If the machine drained, it won't be too bad. If your machine is stuck full of water, that sucks...hopefully you won't get too wet. ( maybe you`re lucky enough to be close to a floor drain )
Ultimately you may have a faulty drain pump, but I would certainly start by performing the things I listed first.
Let me know if you require further assistance and if not and this solves your problem, please rate the solution I provided accordingly.
Thank you for coming to "fixya" and good luck.

OK,
Good luck than.
Thanks very much for the detailed instructions on opening the round access panel. I found an awl worked just fine. The little plastic tab behind the small hole just blocks the panel from rotating. It only needs to be pushed one-quarter inch, maybe less, then the tab is out of the way and the panel can be rotated easily. In my washer the pump is working just fine (the machine is empty) yet the E13 code still shows after several minutes of pumping. Frustrating! This machine is about 17 months old, was new May 2009; now it's November 2010.
Hello,
Welcome to FixYa.
I'll start by addressing your post..."In my washer the pump is working just fine (the machine is empty) yet the E13 code still shows after several minutes of pumping. Frustrating! This machine is about 17 months old, was new May 2009; now it's November 2010."
This is a common complaint I experience in the event the client has been using the wrong detergent, or too much of the "HE" after an extended period of time and since you stated this just started since having the washer for approx. 18mons.
As a result there can be excessive suds detected by the control, even though the same amount of detergent is being used as you normally use...it's a residual effect. The first thing you could try is running the unit through a "hot" wash cycle a few times empty.
If the error continues try a product called "AFFRESH",
i.e.
...it is available at most grocers or local hardware such as Lowes, Home Depot or a local appliance part stores.
After trying that, it will likely require physically going into the machine and cleaning the sump hose,
i.e.
...of course ultimately it could be the pump. I doubt that though based on your claim that it does indeed pump out the water fine.
Let me know if it works or what you find. Good luck.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)
Wow, what a life saver, or should I say $$$$ saver. I would have had to call out the Bosch repair man, thinking it was a warranty issue, just to find out I had a thin wash cloth stuck in the pump.
