Volume icon keeps disappearing from system tray

Volume Control - The volume icon does not appear in the notification area (system tray)
Go to Start/Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices.
On the Volume Tab under Device Volume, put a check in the box that reads: Place volume icon in the taskbar.(Classic View)

If that has been tried:
Place your XP CD in then go to Start/Run and type in:
EXPAND -R X:\I386\powrprof.dl_ C:\Windows\System32 (X- is your CD location)
Once done: Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 stobject.dll

My wireless network is not showing up in the bottom right corner

Here is the exact order of steps to restore your System Tray Icons.

1. Back up the Registry by creating a restore point.
2. Go to Start > Run (or Windows-key + R), type in regedit and hit OK.
3. Navigate to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cla sses\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Wi ndows\CurrentVersion \TrayNotify.
4. Delete the values IconStreams and PastIconsStream.
5. Open up the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), go to the Processes tab, select explorer.exe and click End Process.
6. Open the Applications tab and click New Task at the bottom-right of the window.
7. In the message box that pops up type in explorer.exe and hit OK.
8. Explorer.exe will reload, and the missing icons should now be back in the system-tray where they belong.
9. Then if the volume bar isnt there, go to taskbar properties (where the volume was gray) and simply tick the box.
Best Regards,

Marcus

Tray missing

On the right side inside you can see a small slot. Try using a screwdiver or something to click this small microswitch, if the message disappears, then you need to check your tray and see if something is broken. You can also try to move a little on the tray when it`s in the machine. However if clicking on the microswitch doesn`t help, you need to have this switch replaced in a servicecenter

Lexmark x6650 trouble printing from computer

Verify the Lexmark Productivity Studio software is running; Check the system tray for a multi-colored circle. It should have been installed during your initial setup.

If missing, you may need to reinstall the app. It can be easily mistaken for something you don't need while cleaning up startup items. I have two entries in the system registry, HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run\lxdfamon and lxdfmon.exe. When removed my pc can no longer communicate with the printer.
