As described in the title, your DELL Mini has a very small capacity SSD (8 GB Solid state drive). For windows operating systems toghether with some usual applications like MS Office, messengers, adobe reader and flash player etc. it is simply not enough. Of course, installing a larger SSD instead of your 8GB one will solve the issue, but I think it's not what you expect for an answer. That's why I try to suggest an alternative way: Please go to CONTROL PANNEL, ADD AND REMOVE PROGRAMS (in WIndows XP, in Windows 7 it is called PROGRAMS AND FEATURES). In the displayed list please uninstall any programs you do not really need. Also, in the left side pannel there is an option called add/remove windows components: here you can uninstall other applications e.g the games contained in the windows installation like solitaire. After doing so, you will gain some free space on your SSD.
Virtual memory is the space the laptop uses on the hard drive to write to and read from. It usually is caused by running too many applications at once, thereby putting a greater demand on the free disc space you have,
Firstly, you need to check how much free disc space you have. Less than say 1 GB will flag up the issue ( depending how much virtual memory the computer is allocating). You need to remove some data from the hard drive and back it up to free some disc space
Then consider upgrading your ram to help you run more programmes at once if needed
Finally, consider getting an external usb drive to store data on, or upgrade your hard drive
im pretty sure win CE6,0 is for embedded devices only which means it is flashed into the motherboard so you cant do much about that or even change your OS--you must have an older model as the newer ones or some at least have 3g modems ,Look in the battery compartement on the right hand side see if there is a sim card slot if it has you have a handy netbook
Please see this article. Run Disk Cleanup and check on the system restore and shadow copies settings. Then reboot.
If you want to limit the VSS storage, see this link and this article.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread. If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
