Re: I just got a linksys router and i cannot get it to...
What internet service provider are you using, if it is DSL let me know, otherwise just connect your cable network wire to the internet port and a computer to port 1, then boot up the computer you just connected and do the steps as in the following link: http://www.cas411.com/ShowArticle.aspx?ID=68

Your IP address for you linksys router needs to be changed. More than likely there using the same IP address such as 192.168.0.1.
You have to convert your linksys router to a switch and change the IP address range it uses to on that doesn't conflict with the Verizon router.
10.150.1.1 should work.
If you purchased a new router from Linksys, they should have provided you with a CD that provides step by step instructions, with video on how to setup your router. If your bought your router used, then you can still utilize Linksys web site support to assist you. Please follow this link, and click on EasyLink Connect. This will download a small program that can help you set up your router.
Yuk, Linksys has really gone down the tubes as far as ease of use of their routers. You HAVE to use the Linksys router install CD in order to reconfigure your router.
Manual setup will not work.
If you can't find the install CD, try to find it on Linksys's website, but I have been there done that and basically threw it away and got a Belkin router instead, no automated setup and much easier to use.
Plug another Ethernet cable into one of the available ports
Plug the other end of that same cable into an Ethernet port on your PC
LinkSys Router Configuration
LinkSys routers now ship with a Setup Wizard which is intended to simplfy basic configuration tasks.
We do not recommend the LinkSys Setup Wizard for two reasons:
The Setup Wizard is not significantly easier that the regular configuration menus
If you use the Setup Wizard, you will end up learning two interfaces for your LikSys router instead of just one
Instead, we recommend simply starting your web browser and jumping into the configuration.
Once your web browser is open, go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password. Logging in to a LinkSys Router
The username is either blank or "admin" and the default password is "admin".
Once you are past the login screen, you are able to access (and change) a plethora of configuration options for your router.
Don't be worried by the enormous number and variety of options, your LinkSys router ships with default settings that enable it to work right out of the box in most environments.
From here the configuration options that you choose are largely up to your own personal preference.
If this is a wireless router, we recommend that you consider setting an SSID to identify the router as your own and configuring WEP to encrypt your wireless traffic.

If you have forgotten your LinkSys router password, the easiest thing to do is to reset your router to the factory default settings.
To restore the router configuration to factory defaults, hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds.
Once your router is hard reset, you will need to login and reconfigure it again.
To reconfigure your LinkSys, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router.

I am assuming U R trying to get a linksys router to work?? What have U tried to get it to work, or if feed up, take the router back to where U bought it. I use linksys and my routers R about two years old operating 24/7. They R usually very reliable. If its out of warranty, they must of worked before, did they?
Your router should just be that, a router. Your connection is probably like fibernet the modem is actually on the outside of the house. This may help or may not but I have a linksys wired router that works very well but you have to go to their website in order to set up the router. You may need to look through your papers and find the web address to connect to the right site.
