exact same problem even when i physically remove the card and put it in a different PCI slot it still dosent start,i have to try many times repeatedly trying different PCI slots and eventually it will start, then it will go for a week or a few days, and its to the point where im scared to turn off my PC because it might not autodetect and start right away at windows XP boot, and ive got to turn it off and repetedly try the different PCI slots again and maybe after a few minutes of doing that ill see the green LED light up at the back of the network card which means it started working.

I have the same thing and the HP tech support had me download drivers again and it still didn't work. They seemed to run out of ideas and I didn't want to waste any more time with them.

  • dano82 Jan 17, 2009

I downloading the drivers that were suggested from all three locations and each time they were loaded on to my laptop, I updated the drivers from the newly downloaded files and it didn't fix the problem.

  • nphillips Mar 09, 2009

Cannot connect to the internet; when I run the diagnostic, I get "This machine doesn't have any installed network adapter. The required network device drivers may not have been installed."

I do have a Realtek RTL8/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC installed, but I suppose it could be bad, but it does test as good.

I have also tried to unisnstall, but Windows will not let me stating that the adapter may be used for booting the computer. It will not let me uninstall ANY adapter, and I do have admin rights. Any help(?) and thanks.

The network adapter Realtek RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0) is experiencing driver or hardware related issues

Hi there,

If you are able to get on the Internet, you'll want to download the latest drivers. (See below). If you can't get on the Internet, you'll need to find a computer that can, then download the drivers to a disc or small flash drive.
You can get the latest drivers for your Network Card here: http://download.cnet.com/Realtek-RTL8168-8111-PCI-E-Gigabit-Ethernet-NIC/3000-2112_4-99235.html

Try using Driver Dowload, you will have to join its free. If you download the Realtek driver you may need .Net framwork 2.0 for using this.

Rtl8168/8111 pci-e lan failing

hi

i think the issue is more to HW than SW
just a thought but, place the ethernet card in the slot properly but donot put in the screw to attach it to the cabinet and check to see if the card is getting detected

also try checking if te card works on some other machine with either XP or some other

just a hunch though

cheers
pls rate if it was any help
