Oven will not work.

This is what GE recommends for your oven:

“F—and a number or On models with a door latch, • The latch may have been moved, even if only slightly,
letter” flash in the display if a function error code appears from the locked position. Make sure the latch is moved
during the self-cleaning cycle, to the right as far as it will go.
check the oven door latch.
You have a function error code. • Touch the Clear/Off pad. Allow the oven to cool for
one hour. Put the oven back into operation.
If the function code repeats. • Disconnect all power to the range for 5 minutes
and then reconnect power. If the function error
code repeats, call for service.

Approximately 2 hours into the self-cleaning cycle the range starts to beep, displays error 154, and stops. Does anyone have any suggestions of what is wrong and how to go about fixing it.

Hi,
Seems like you found out the hard way what I wrote about in this tip...
Check it out it also contains some thing to try on how to unlock that oven..

Door locks and F9 fault codes

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

Tappen gas 4 burner about 10 years old with about 10 hrs total use time(basement stove)

Hi Carlsr,

The F1 error code description is an electronic oven control failure. To fix this error, you need to replace electronic oven control (also called EOC or clock).

Hope it helps.

Error Code F7 during Self-Cleaning

This indeed indicates a problem with the Electronic Range Control (ERC). The part number for your range is 769758 and costs about $120. You can find the part at repairclinic.com and have it shipped directly to you for a modest shipping fee. If you need further guidance let me know. I hope this information is helpful.

Error code

Try unplugging or turning off the breaker for 30 mins then plug it back in and see if you still have the 160. I'm surprised that it doesn't have an F anywhere in the code. How old is the oven. Could some of the lights on the control be out. they are LED's and sometime they do burn out. I'm thinking this could be an F06 code which could mean anything from a power surge (clock) and needs to be reset (like I said by switching of the breakers or unplugging) to an EOC (Electronic Oven Control) failure. By switching off the oven and waiting about 30 mins. if it doesn't come back on it will be the EOC. make sure the LED (light emitting diodes) aren't out on the control making you

F1 Error code

i just had this same issues happen after running the self clean cycle. f1 error, fan would come on, fan would turn off. its not the control board, its the temperature probe. I picked up the part for 40 bucks and put it in myself. plugged the stove back in and it was good to go. the old temperature probe's wires melted during self clean. note to self: clean you over the old fashion way with some elbow grease.
