A common problem with flip face headunits is the flexible cable that connects the face to the main unit develops a hairline fracture through the cable after a while and disconnects 1 or more conductors. this can have the effect you are experiencing. try gently pressing on the cable and see if any functions return

Hi, my sony changer control audio master wx-c580r doesn't want to play CDRs, any reason why?

On the player there must be the loge CD-R compatible. If not, it wont play CD-r disks.
Normal CD's have a metallic reflector layer, giving a high contrast. CD-r disks have a dye, that will be changed in colour by a laser, giving a lesser contrast. When the laser and detectors in the player is not capable of reading the lesser contrast they can't play CD-R disks. Most older players can't. Sony is one of the manufacturers who deliberately kept there players incompatible with CD-r disk the longest.

I've had my Sony Xplod CDX S2010 Radio/CD player in my Jeep for years and it has all of a sudden locked up on me. The CD player will play and eject CDs, however it doesn't allow me to adjust volume or skip...

i'm not sure if there is a flexible cable that goes from the face to the motherboard. if there is, that could be the problem. it could also be a bad switch.

Road Gear cd player says er07 or er09.

Hey Rachelle.. Sorry to say, but Road Gear is an off brand, and they don't hold up well at all. It sounds to me like the laser it's self has gone bad, and unfortunately not worth fixing.

If you want an inexpensive cd player that will last for a while I recomend Kenwood KDC138 they retail for arround $90, and do a decent job. Nothing fancy, but they do have a front input for MP3 player, or any aux source.

MP3 CD not recognized by Sony-Error "No Disc"

the mp3 files have to be recorded in the ISO9660 level 1 or level 2 format, or the Joliet or Romeo in the expansion format.
Please note this is verbatim, straight from my Sony manual.
For details of your recording format you will have to see your converter's help or configuration files.

Sony Xplod CDX-S2210S

It is more then likely your faceplate has become non functional, and if so the cd player is almost none functional. If you can remove the faceplate try cleaning the connections that clip into the cd player. But by the sounds of it, your face plate is die'ing out on you. Sorry

Good luck,
IF you need any more help just ask.
Thankyou

Cd player buttons don't work

On almost every port. cd player is a botton lock switch . Some make all the buttons not work and some units only let play work. I suggest you look for this before taking apart as these units have whats called ribbon cable inside them and are very easy to damage them.
