Hi asssuming the unit will play audio cd's back to back with no problems then it suggests the laser pickup has aged. depending on the original purchase price and age of the machine, repair cost may outweigh replacement cost

Selective playing of DVD's on Sharp DVD Recorder

Given that the machine will read disks it has written itself but not play regular discs, I suspect the lens assembly is slightly out of alignment and needs adjusting. This is not normally something you can do at home unless you have the correct test gear. It will need to go to a repair shop. One thing you can try before that is to clean the lens. Buy a quality (Scotch 3M, Philips ) cleaning disc and try it. Could be it's only a speck of dust on the lens.....

My DVD keeps coming up no disc tryed more than one still the same.

This is usually an indication that the lens is dirty or that the optics are starting to fail. Try cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If the unit still fails, try playing a music CD. If the music works but a DVD will not, then the optics are failing and need to be replaced.

Wont play a disc. It will stay in Loading mode for minutes and then read "No Disc"

Try to play a music on cd instead of playing dvd. It it plays keep playing until playey got hot and drive off moisture on circuit. Let it cool down then try play dvd. If it can play severy dvd in sequence, then your unit is repaired. Keep using it to avoid condensation inside the dvd player.

My TEAC DR-H300 HDMI is reading discs intermitently, i.e. sometimes it does, most times it doesn't. Once I insert the disc and close the tray it stays with the message LOAD and nothing else happens. Could...

The usual cause of this is the optical disk itself. Either the media has defects that your player doesn't like, or the codec needed to 'read' the disk is missing or unknown. Try playing a standard DVD from the music store. If that plays ok, you may need to upgrade your firmware. New firmware should be available from the maker's web site.

Solutions to incorrect disk error c105 & c104

Hello gjbrokke,

First make sure the disc is compatible with the dvd player (CD-R+ , or CD-R - )

Second make sure the region code of the dvd you burned is compatible with the dvd region settings on your dvd player.

One of those two are preventing the disc from playing in your sansui player.

Dvd player refuses to read any disc I load into the machine

Hello I was looking to try and help you with your DVD player, we will start by loading a music cd store purchased, no burned cds please, if the cd loads and plays then your dvd player is either out of adjustment or going bad, most dvd players, i have worked on, will load and play a music cd, but will show loading errors when trying DVD's. If the music cd dosen't load then there could be an issue with the drive or tray. If the music cd plays just fine, then your laser is either out of adjustment or going bad. You can call the manufacuter to see if there is a process for resetting the DVD player, not all DVD players have this option, if resetting the DVD player dosen't work, but music cd's do then your laser lens is dirty or going bad. At this point you have three options 1) Take it to a repair shop, 2) Get an new one, 3) Get your hands dirty if your really handy and know what your doing to clean and replace the laser. I hope I can be of further assitance and I look forward to helping in the future, Thank You and have a nice day.

PLAYING A CD-R ON THE DVD

this one sounds easy
ok lets look at the cd's-r your using are they brand new
and if brand new
then i would say that cd's and dvd's are coming out with new formats so that new cd's dvd's wont play in older equipment

now the other thing could be software and how the files movies or music was put onto the disc sometime software needs upgrade to support files on disc

is cd-r recognized by the dvd player as what i mean does it allow cd-r's to be played on the dvd player is this format supported
