From your description, I suspect your motherboard is problematic. Since your computer is under warranty, I would advise you to contact Dell for repair or replacement.
If you purchased it new, you should be able to get the keyboard replaced under warranty. Dell's come with a minimum 1-year warranty. Give them a call and tell them the issue with the spacebar.
There is a possibility that the battery is bad. You can try to remove the battery from the system and connect the adapter see if the comuter will turn on just with the ac adapter if it worked you might need to have battery replacement. If the issue still not resolved you might need to have motherboard replacement since it's the connection fo the adapter to the system.
right click on open area on the desk top. Go to properties - screen saver - power monitor - go to the hibernate tab - uncheck enable hibernation - click apply then ok.
