Panasonic VIERA TH-65PV500 65 in. Plasma Television Logo
Ian Thompson Posted on Aug 13, 2010

I have a panasonic Viera and I'd like to play my computer through it. The computer picture works fine through a converter to the HDMI cable input but how do I get sound? I need a separate cable from the computer (MacBookPro) but all the audio inputs don't work as I have HDMI selected from the input list.

How to connect Panasonic TC-P50C2 to Bose Wave?

Connecting the audio between the cable box and the TV is easy, if you are using one of the composite or component video inputs. Just plug in the associated R/L audio jacks in a line with the video input. If you are using the HDMI input, that carries sound on the HDMI cable. You don't need to connect the audio out of the cable box to the TC-P50C2. See the connections page of the TV manual here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/246619/Panasonic-Viera-Tc-P50c2.html?page=12#manual . Then set the TV to this input.

However, the Panasonic TC-P50C2 does not have an analog audio output. You could try connecting the cable box RCA audio out to the Bose Wave system. You will need a RCA M/M to 3.5 mm adapter cable. (Alternatively a RCA M/M to 3.5 mm F converter and an AUX (3.5mm M/M cable or a 3.5mm M to RCA F/F adapter with a standard RCA audio cable will work between the cable box and the Bose ) This may not have the audio sync correctly with the video.

The alternative is to use a digital to analog audio converter and one of the above RCA to 3.5 mm solutions. Get an converter that has an optical digital audio input and an optical audio cable (Toslink). (The cable isn't always sold with the converter.) (https://www.manualslib.com/manual/246619/Panasonic-Viera-Tc-P50c2.html?page=50#manual ) See some converters here: https://www.amazon.com/DA-Converters/b?ie=UTF8&node=3224445011 .

I hope this helps.

Hdmi inputs does not show a picture. The inputs just stop working.

I'm having the same problem. The projector stopped recognizing any input over either of the two HDMI inputs. The JVC RX-D411S receiver was working fine up until I used the VGA input with a computer and since that time, HDMI has not worked (despite working fine before). I tested two HDMI cables into each of the two ports but nothing! All other inputs work fine.

HDMI inputs are not working

As crcelect suggests you can run the TV on RCA. You should also be able to use coax directly from your cable box. If you don't have cable you can use an rf converter to connect coax.
I have exactly the same problem with my Panasonic TH-42PX75U. I've been told that I may need to run a setup on my cable box to fix the problem. If I find a solution I'll provide details in a future post.

HDMI from home theatre to tv HDMI

Sony Viao HDMI to Panasonic Plasma TV HDMI Input handshake

Try all of your HDMI inputs, one may be rated at the correct voltage to be able to display the video. The offical part that Panasonic was giving for this was PDPHDMIKIT, its basically a HDMI extender that regulates the voltage. The part is still available online, try partstore.com or andrews-electronics.
