I want to delete everything from my computer and start over. I know on some Dell Computers, by turning it on and immediately begin holding down the control key and tapping F10 it will start at the beginning and everything is deleted from your computer; I want to do the same thing with my Compaq Presario 2100 Laptop but I don't know what keys to press

When you purchased the computer, you should have received a set of "System Restore" CD-ROMs. Use them.

If you have lost them, telephone HP/COMPAQ, and order a replacement set of "System Restore" CD-ROMs. The cost could be $20 for the set, and $20 for courier-shipping. When the disks arrive, use them.

P.S. Backup all your music/files/bookmarks/contacts before doing the "factory" reset.

Recovery disk will not help u make ur notebook facotry fit
First u need to get a full version Windows install CD
try piratebay.org
u can get the torrent link file there for any win OS and download that,
it will get u the full working version of any Win OS
google search "Torrent piratebay Windows XP"
u also need to get/install BitTorrent software from google/internet to get the torrent link file...
the full file of WinOS say 400 - 700 mb may be a ISO file that u need to burn to a CD so that u can boot from the disk and install windows
visit my site (FormatDisk page)
www.sureshayyar.110mb.com for a full detail on how to do it

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Can i restore my compaq presario cq60 notebook to factory setting without cd ? its vista

hi.
there are two ways to completely restore settings of a computer:
1- enter Bios of your notebook (by pressing "delete" repeatedly") and select restore to manufacturer's settings.(or load from manufacture settings). THIS CAN RESTORE SETTINGS OF YOUR HARDWARE.

2- for restoring settings of Windows:
restart your notebook and before windows starts up (showing "windows starting") press F8 repeatedly.
then choose "load from last good configuration".

I want to reset my laptop to factory settings? How do I do this?

Do you have the restore disks? If you put the restore disk in your disk drive you should be able to follow the steps to reset to factory settings. When I did this to my computer, I chose the box that said "Restore computer to out of the box state"

BEFORE you do this, you should back up any text and image files that you want to keep. After resetting, your files will be lost and you will have to reinstall any programs or files that did not originally come on your computer.

How do I go about resetting computer to factory settings without a restore disk

No can do I'm sorry to say. Some laptops have restore partitions you can access but not Compaqs. You are encouraged to burn a restore DVD when you boot first time. You can run any licensed disc to reinstall and download the drivers from the Compaq site

Restore to factory settings on compaq presario 2100

Do you have the restore disk that came with the pc? Just remember that restoring the pc to factory settings, will wipe out your hard drive as if it were 'new.' Try to save whatever you can before you perform the restore.
