In this case make sure that the plastic tab that actuates the sensor is not broken off. If it is, try and find some way to defeat it. Other wise you will have to replace the whole transmit door assembly.

The fax is received by the other party but we receive an error code J72. There is no jam

If you are sending the fax using ADF, there may be the document jam, Open the ADF cover check the path for any foreign objects.
Also you can send from platen glass without document jam.

Also this may happen to the other end fax machine, better you do a test copy from ADF and Platen glass. and confirm your fax machine is ok.

Minolta di251 co500

First ensure that the right side of the machine is closed there are two latches on the side door inside are either one broken? if not ensure the door is closed. Take a paper clip on the right side of the control panels a small hole touch the switch inside with the paper clip. (From then on only that paper clip can be use to this:):):)) The screen will state abort that OK, then the screen with three little copier comes on to the left on the control screen will be a small blue/purple dot when it shows hit 3. Then when you go to utility/counter screen there will me a maintenance mode touch it. touch TROUBLE RESET let machine do its thing code should go away. if it comes back there is a problem with the switch in front cover you can not see and the fusing unit the hot part and the side door not keeping the switch you can't see closed telling the copier to provide 117VAC wall outlet power to the fuser unit the hot part.

Check document error, no paper jam

It may be a bad hinge on the document feeder. I have seen several times where the left hinge ( when looking at machine from front) does not close all the way. Close the adf and look at the gap between the copier and the adf. The gap should be the same from the front to the back. If the gap is bigger at the rear ( when looking at the left side of the machine) then you need to replace the left hinge. You can also try pushing down on the document feeders' left side as it feeds the paper. if it works while pushing down, then it is the hinge.

Document feeder reporting paper jam when there is nojam

The ADF need to be serviced the sensors are detecting the jam which you can not see.
1. maybe there is a very tine piece of paper inside therefore, service it.
2. there is a cover containing some switches which complete the circuit for the the cover may be it is not fully closed. (close it)
3. position the sensors nicely and properly.
4. replace the PCB for the ADF
5. Disconnect the ADF from the machine main PCB.(repair it), the machine can work without it being connected.
