Rubber gasket Bello!

What is the trick to installing the back (inner) steel ring around the gasket. I am attempting to put the gasket and the retaining ring on at the same time and the retaining ring keeps slipping off the gasket seat.

It is very hard to get the ring on front load washers,
it is much easier to remove the top. bottom and the front control panel
then the door and support panel.
now you have access.
some times you have to remove the counter weight in some models before putting on the ring.
if you can do it without removing these items you are very very good.

I have a frigidaire front door load washing machine. I was trying to clean the bellows but the inner (circle) spring fall out of the bellows. How do I put it back thanks serial number is BLTF1040D

Hi.

If you are talking about the circular tub boot spring, then you need to remove the gasket. Pulling out the spring is very easy, refitting is more complicated.
It is held by a clamp or clips, or both (this one has clips as well). Remove it and refit it. To remove the bellow, depending on the model you may need to remove the front panel. I think on this one you need first to remove top and control panel. When you have free access to the gasket, remove the gasket, fit gasket following the tube edge, align the gasket correctly (the soft rubber bellow), then refit the circular spring.

Here diagram, click on the picture to enlarge:

Check also this manual at page 29.The manual is for a similar Electrolux and shows pictures of bellow and spring refit, which is what you need to do.

Regards.

My son replaced the thermostat and thermostat housing on his 2002 ford taurus. It is leaking from the bottom of the housing. What would cause this?

COULD HAVE DAMAGED RUBBER O RING TIGHTEN TOO TIGHT OR REUSED THE OLD ORING WILL CAUSE LEAKING.IF YOUR THERMOSTAT HAS PAPER GASKET INSTEAD O RING. YOU NEED TO PUT SEALANT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE GASKET.THAT WILL KEEP IT FROM LEAKING.IF YOUR VECHICLE HAD A RUBBER O RING AROUND THERMOSTAT REPLACE WITH NEW O RING DONT PUT PAPER GASKET IF YOU HAVE THE O RING SEAL.THE O RING DOES THE SEALING NO NEED PAPER GASKET.

Installation of bello gaskit

Did you remove the complete front panel to remove gasket? If not, you are going to struggle to get new one on and refit the inner spring. Usually if you add a few drops of washing up liquid to the inner crease of the door gasket it will help.

How do i take my fuel pump out in my bmw 325, i got the rear seat put and the cover on the passenger seat off, i just cant get the pump out

The fuel pump in your 325 is under the rear seat, passenger side. Take the seat out, then pull up the rubber grommet with the wire going through it. Leave the wire alone for now. Peel up the thin rubber insulating mat. It is pre cut by the factory and not glued down. Remove the four nuts (10mm socket) and lift the round plate. Now remove the wire by sliding the plastic plug type housing back and lift the entire plug type housing up. Now, remove the hose clamp and slide the hose back off the plastic tube. If you damage the clamp, buy a new 1/4" clamp at the auto store for .30cents. Now unscrew the steel ring holding the pump in place. Unscrew this ring by tapping the ring with a screw driver and hammer. Remember counterclockwise (off). Now put your finger in the plastic ring molded into the top of the pump and pull up with some force. It is in place with a rubber gasket. Tight, but it will come loose. Be careful not to drop any thing into the tank. On the other side (drivers side) is a float/sensor. When reinstalling, seat the rubber gasket into the hole then drop the new pump/sensor into place. Your tank is like a saddle bag so it has two float/sensors. Time: 25 minutes

How do I replace the door gasket on a Westinghouse front loading washing machine? Have taken off the front steel ring that holds the gasket in place, but looks like I need to take the front panel off the...

The step by step procedure to replace the head gasket are:
  1. Open door and pull on inside of gasket to expose screws or 1/4 nuts.
  2. Loosen[do NOT remove] all screws and pull old gasket out.
  3. Place new gasket in sink of hot water to soften it and put back around door.
  4. Snug up a couple of screws on each side and test seal by shutting door.
  5. You may need to adjust inner panel until just right..then tighten all screws

Rubber gasket

Hi,

Feel around the seal, in the groove behind the seal face. You'll find a spring at the bottom. With a small screwdriver, lever the spring over the seal face. Work the steel ring off. Fold the seal inside the washer. Unplug the washer, Remove the door, and set aside. Locate your panel screws and remove the front, exposing the drum and basket. There are usually additional screws under the dispenser trays too. Disconnect the door lock wires. Locate the other spring/ring assembly on the outer drum, and remove. Orient your new seal properly and reassemble. The only difference on the reassembly is that, when you are putting the rings back on, start 180 degrees from the spring, and work the ring back on until you get to the spring. Carefully lever the spring back over the seal face, being careful not to damage your new seal.

How hard is it to get a pump put of the transmission and put another one in

You've got to remove the transmission from the vehicle. It's a tough task in the driveway and I wouldn't recommend it unless you've done one before. It comes out the bottom and the axle shafts must also be removed. Once you've got the trans out, you slide the torque converter off the shaft and there's the pump staring back at you. It has 5 bolts locking it down and once you take those out you'll need a slide hammer (threaded into those same holes) to get it out of the trans. There's a gasket underneath it, a rubber o-ring around the outside and several steel o-rings on the shaft. ALWAYS use new bolts when putting it back in and use thread-lock on the torque converter bolts.

Kenmore washer need to put rubber gasket retaining spring back on. Any tricks, seems impossible. Peter

I assume that you're talking about the inner spring. It's very tight, so you have to get the rubber gasket (bellows) fitted on the its frame, then push the bellows inside out in toward the tub. Start with placing the spring in its groove at 12 o'clock. Wedge something between the bellows and the white colored weight ring of the tub. You'll need something approx 3/4" in diameter to wedge the top of the spring in place. (I've used a 1/2"X90 degree copper elbow I had laying around that had an approx outside diameter of 3/4"). This will hold the spring in place as you work it around. It is still very difficult and you may have to stretch the spring ever so slightly to get it back into the groove. Once the spring is back on, remove the wedge, fold the bellows back out and attach the fill hose and attach bellows back to front panel.
