I have an HP laptop. It has the wireless bottom on the front that you slide back and forth to turn off or on. It is blue when on. My button no longer turns blue for on and I can not access internet. It says no wireless network available and then another thing said to plug in the adapter to the computer. I have not clue. Is this something that can be easily fixed. I was using it one minute and then 30 minutes later when I wanted to get back on that was it no blue and obviously no connection.
I can't remember the Model name at the moment. I think it is a HP duo core

You need to take it back to whomever replaced the fan because the wireless button ribbon came loose and it is simply not activating your wireless device as it should. These are ribbon cables typically that are flat and slide into sockets that then lock in place. When it was taken apart to fix the fan, they obviously did not get it slid back in properly or forgot about it all together.
If you are using a firewall disable it there
is a wireless toggle switch on the side of your laptop. It slides back
and forth to turn your wireless card on and off. It has a little
wireless symbol next to it, and you should NOT see red. If you see red
showing, it means that the wireless adapter is turned off. Slide the
adapter to the ON position, and then try to repair your wireless
connection. Hope this helps
I have looked at and reviewed your problem with your HP laptop DV6700Z and have the fallowing for you to aces.
First, if you are trying to access the internet via wireless, wait until you have established and wired connection.
If the blue light comes on in the front panel, the wireless is working, if not, you have a problem with the wireless modem.
Run a wire from your laptop to your modem and enter your my network, choose setup a internet connection.
Try to make a internet connection. Once you have established a connection, you can setup your wireless connection.
Hope this has helped you.
it should just automatically find a wireless signal. go into your network file and look around to see what it says. mine just found a signal didn't have to do anything. click on start menu you'll see network click there.
There should be a switch on the very front and bottom of your computer that slides back and forth, enabling or disabling the wireless. If this is set in the on position, you can press FN (next to CTRL) and F5 and turn the wireless on or off from there as well. Even if the physical switch is set to ON, the settings when pressing FN+F5 may be off.
Theres a little slide on (or flip) switch to turn on your wireless. It can also be slide (or switch) off to turn off. Its usually located in the lower right front and sometimes its on the side depending on the model of your laptop. Theres usually a quick reference guide that comes with the laptop and that will show you where the USB ports are at, serial ports, AC jack, audio jack, CD Rom, and specifically where your wireless switch is located. There will also be a light ( blue or green indicating its on ) so once its on it can pick up wireless router signals, hence allows you internet access.
Follow the link below, read about this problem, and then call the special HP phone number. They are repairing these computers under a special enhanced warranty policy, even if the regular warranty is expired. Good luck!
RESTORE YOUR COMPUTER! This just happened to me and i looked up and tried EVERYTHING! Since my wifi button had only stopped working 2 days ago, I restored my computer to 4 days prior because I was told that sometimes without you even knowing you allow stuff to get on your computer whenever you get online which could cause your computer to turn functions off automatically. My wifi button actually stopped working after I went into a mcdonalds with my computer an used their wifi so I think me allowing their wifi onto my computer did something to it because when I took it home the button was just red altogether and it was SOOO frustrating. But as soom as I restored it, my computer came back on and a little window popped up saying "Your wifi is currently off, toggle your wifi key to turn it on/off". I was so happy! The simpliest thing that no one would ever think of.
