A battery for a Sony Clie N610C works perfectly, everything fits and its easy work to do. Just cut the leads off of your old battery and then solder them to the Clie battery (its on a little circuit board) and then install, my Quest II now has a functioning battery 15 minutes later.

Replace battery

The sony NV -U83 battery is made by cameron sino.

Do a search on ebay for CS-SUN82SL

That is the correct size, power and fitting for a replacement battery and will cost around 7.50 inclusive of p&p.

New battery and still not holding charge

Not sure what kind of battery you are using in your GPS. If you can put in AA or AAA size batteries, try to use NiMH rechargeable batteries the can be bought with capacities till 2500 mA/h. (sometimes suggested 2700 on the battery) but still 2500 mA/h is very much. Do charge the batteries with a charger that is capable to charge correct. When putting a NiMH battery on an old charger for NiCd batteries, the battery never get the full capacity.
If the Battery is inside and you must go to a repair shop for replacement, please ask if they can check if the GPS is not draining to much power, because of any malfunction.

Does the same apply for the NavMan S100T battery as you can buy replacement batteries for this model?

No. From the manual: "Your Navman contains a non-replaceable internal lithium-ion polymer battery."

My garmin nuvi keeps saying "low battery" and it doesn't seem to be charging.

Your Garmin rechargeable battery has reached the end of its lifespan and must be replaced. Nuvi batteries are not intended to be user-replaceable so the official fix is to return the unit to Garmin for a replacement to be fitted, but you can do so yourself far more cheaply and it's not difficult.

As you haven't stated your model, I cannot give you a direct link, but if you enter the search term "nuvi <your model number> battery replacement" into your search engine you'll normally find explicit instructions and often a YouTube video guide.

I hope that you get your Garmin working again soon, please take a moment to rate my answer.

The battery for the Acer p630 seems to be

That would indicate your battery is toast. You didn't say where you are so I can't give you any local links however you have a couple of ways to get a new battery.

One is going to going to support and calling the local acer support number. They will likely want you to send in the complete unit. The other option is to send it to a third party or do it yourself. It's not a big job or a hard one. You only need the right size of screw driver and a few minutes. Other than making sure you get any seals back in place it is a very simple job. Anyway to find the battery or a place to send it o just do a search on your favorite search engine ie google or bing for ACER P630 REPLACEMENT BATTERY and your country.

Then just find one that is close or cheap. Usually the battery or store will have some instructions but they are not usually needed.

As far as cost The battery should be in the $40-$60 range. Usually they are $15-$25 but the few prices I found were clsoer to $60.

Garmin will not turn on

Have you tried plugging it in to a 12v supply to recharge it?

Sorry if this seems to be a stupid question, but it's the most obvious one to start with.

If you have then the battery has probably failed, it only has a finite lifespan and is not designed to be replaced on most current models. Units with failed batteries can always still be used when connected to an external power source.

Garmin offer a battery replacement service which is free during the warranty and is charged for afterwards: they don't actually replace the battery on current/recent models but send a replacement unit at a lower cost than buying a complete new product.

Garmin Forerunner battery replacement

It's not always the battery, I assumed it was and opend mine up to check it out but the battery was OK.
Problem was the unit wouldn't start without pressing mode + reset followed by the power button.

I lifted the internal watch contact strips to put a better connection between the two halves but that made no difference.
I found that I couldn't delete all the history and the watch had recently turned itself off on a run after giving a low battery warning => the history was corrupted and caused the watch grief.

The only way I found to delete the history was to load a v 2.80 (or earlier) version of the watch s/w (current 2.90 doesn't delete history and there is no tool to do it!)
Fortunately I had a copy of v2.80 but the old version is not now on the Garmin site (that I saw).
Moral of the story, don't run your battery low for two reasons, Li-ion batteries lose capacity if you run them below ~30% and also if the watch "low battery" turns off while recording it can corrupt the history and really upset the watch.

At least I now know how to open the watch and have found plenty of possible small mobile phone batteries that will fit (Samsung have a few possibilities). The ABSOLUTE max size of a replacement battery is 36mm H x 43 mm wide x 5.8 mm deep.
If you go 43 mm wide you have to trim a couple of internal plastic ridges in the case.

Good luck and try starting after pressing mode + reset if it won't fire up then try and delete all the history.
Also DON'T run the battery low if you want it to last, Li-ion work opposite to NiCad and NiMH which should be fully discharged before recharge. You try and keep them above 50%.
