Question about IBM ThinkPad T30 2366 Notebook
This is the same laptop that I wrote in about earlier, the screen flickering and then shutting off. I had to put it away for a while and haven't been able to work on it. So, now I'm back with it. Now tho, the screen no longer flickers. I tried to start it up, everything was dead. So, I plugged it in and was able to get the charging light to come on and I left it overnight, in which the charging light changed from yellow to green. When I tried to start it up this morning, all of the lights came on, it sounded like it was going to start and then it just shut off. I tried pushing the power button again but nothing. So, I took out the battery, put it back in, pushed the power button and, once again, the lights lit up, is sounded like it was going to power up, and then it just shut off again. I did this 3 or 4 times, the same process, the same action. It's like something is either preventing it from starting up or there is an automatic shut off or something. Any ideas?? Thanks so much.
Motherboard is damaged I recommend ebay for a board of that type, there is no simple fix I own three T20s and when one did the same thing I just replaced the motherboard that solved the problem. the lcd screen and inverter were fine.
based on the non powering issue now I would say the MB is shot, replacement will give you a few more year use however for a reasonable price.

SOURCE: IBm thinkpad will not turn on
Could have been a power surge that affected it by try a few things to be sure:
unhook the battery and only have the ac adapter hooked up. If you have a green light on the ac adapter then you know your getting power from that.
Try turning on the laptop and if you still get nothing then the motherboard is definitely bad.
