Any valid ctfmon.exe file is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32. In other cases, ctfmon.exe is a virus, spyware, trojan or worm! There is no good reason that it should be in the recycled bin. I would suggest first making sure you have a valid file in the location indicated. Then, if that is there, delete the file that is in your Recycle Bin. This file is necessary for running various tasks related to the language bar, and runs in the backround constantly monitoring the windows that are being utilized.

Based on the message you have indicated, it appears that you may have a virus or other malware. Aside from taking the actions above, you should make sure you have scanned and protected your PC from these destructive processes. Then you should not have any further issue. If you do, please let me know. Thanks for rating FixYa!

Hi,

Would you try to format your flash drive using this software which I uploaded HERE. Download and unzip the file. Then run the exe file.

Do the followings:

- First plug in your micro-sd card into you PC using USB cable.

- Run the downloaded "HPUSBFW_2.2.3_MASTER.exe" file.

- In the program menu window, select the device (your flash drive).

- Select FAT32 as file system,

- Confirm that all the format options unchecked. (Uncheck the quick format option)

- And click the "Start" button to begin formatting.

- Then restart your computer to recognize your flash drive. Or from control panel, go to Add devices menu and search your flash drive to find and add.

Hope this helps.

Hi there, I'm having problems opening the files on Lexar 2GB JumpDrive FireFly it just says not formatted do you want to format? Please help I have precious photos etc. Thanks

If it says that the files are probably gone, sorry. Try using it on a different system, if it says the same thing they are definitely gone. Good luck I hope it works on a different system.

Error message 0x80070052

I tried setting up a new folder and transfering the files, this did not work either so I just purchased a new Jump drive. I had plenty of space remaining on the Lexar, however, my time was worth more than the cost of a new drive. I'll keep looking for "free solutions" to my problem and if I find the answer, I'll respond.

Lexar USB

Yes. Connect it to your computer, then click my computer. You will see your drive listed among the hard drives. Make sure you select the right one (it should say removable drive or Lexar USB) right click it & select format. All files are deleted & the drive is reformatted & ready to use.
