Hoover wind tunnel self propelled U6617-960

The vacuum has no suction at the floor. I have checked the hose, and no blockage. When I try to use the attachments, still no suction. What could be the problem.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Hoover U6437-900 / U6439-900 Windtunnel upright Vacuum
You definitely have a clod between the tube by the brushroll area and the attachment hose and the best way is to take a wire hanger and make a little hook on the end to see if there is a clog, the clog is closer to the fan area and anything big would clog up the area sideways and
-- you may have to remove the top cover to see if there is a clog and to better get @ it from the top. Another suggestion is to do a belt change whether you have one or 2 belts on the vacuum and to change the belts @ the same time every 4 to 6 months. Also, check you owner’s manual under trouble shooting to see if there is something else, other wise that is what I think is the problem. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Why won't hoover wind tunnel self-propel?

Hi there! The self-propelled feature is controlled by a belt. Check the belts on your Hoover Windtunnel by following these quick steps.

1. Recline the handle. Lay the cleaner fat and flip it over to expose nozzle base.
2. Remove the screws attaching the nozzle.
3. Check that the belts are not broken, stretched or damaged.

Replace the belts if they are damaged. Hope this helps!

There is too much suction even with the hand tools on Hoover wind tunnel. Can i adjust suction somehow?

Hi, it's Jeremy from Crucial Vacuum.

If there is too much suction, adjust the nozzle control knob to a higher setting. The knob is located on the front of the vacuum at the bottom. For optimal cleaning efficiency a low setting should be used for most types of carpet and for hardwood floors, tile, and deep carpets use a higher setting.

Loud rattling noise and no suction

You have something that's been sucked up into the floor cleaning part of the machine... then clogged it off. Be persistent and you should be able to find it and get it out..

I have a Hoover Wind Tunnel Self propelled 12amp. There seems to be very little suction. I have cleaned the hoses and filters but still not much suction. any ideas? thanks.

Make sure all filters are cleaned out and entry ways are clear of all debris. Remove hose and check for blockage. Usually the low suction can be remedied when all filters are cleaned. Hope this works for you.

Self Propel wheels not enough power to move machine over carpet.

Sounds like the transmission might need an overhaul. Take it to a local vacuum repair shop and have them look at the transmission.

Why wont the self propelled brush on the hoover wind tunnel work. large belt is ok. the small belt looks 0k.

no don't do that, have a little patience.check where the self propelled assembly is and see if anything got in there, something might be loose and the teeth are meeting each other.thats a good vavuum.i have 2 but their not self propelled.try taking the belt off the self propelled machanisn and try it again.if it works then something is keeping the propelled machanism from working.dig a little deeper, what do you have to lose?

No suction on Hoover Wind Tunnel.

Greetings from GoVacuum.com,

First this is a common problem on ALL bagless vacuum cleaners. Usually it takes longer then 1 day however.

Is there no suction in the suction hose, or is it not suctioning from the floor?

Most people buy a bagless vacuum once, then return to a bagged one after their bad experience, you are not alone!

Please give me the model number to your Hoover, (found on the bottom or the back of the vacuum on a foil label).

Thanks,

I have little suction when using the hose attachment

Check the hose for a blockage. If you remove the hose, if there is suction at the point where the hose hooks to the back of the vac, then the hose is clogged. If no suction there, check filters, make sure they are clean.

Thanks to reddevil6. Sure enough it was the belt. What I did was take off the belt and flipped it over, worked like a charm. Since it was stretched on one side the other side was still ok. Still need a new, but s aved me a trip to the store!
