Have you tried to lower the temp.settings?? If settings are about 1/3 of the range, then it could be a thermostat problem.

I had two requests today for the same thing. That's something!!
Could you remove the freezer back panel to check if the themostat's sensor is clipped to he evaporator colil?? Just need to turn unit off and unplugged from the wall.. The thermostat sensing unit is a skinny wire or tube clipped to the evaporator, you can't miss it.
