Have you tried to lower the temp.settings?? If settings are about 1/3 of the range, then it could be a thermostat problem.

    Yes I have...Is there a problem with thermostats with this model?

  • Anonymous Aug 12, 2010

    I had two requests today for the same thing. That's something!!

    Could you remove the freezer back panel to check if the themostat's sensor is clipped to he evaporator colil?? Just need to turn unit off and unplugged from the wall.. The thermostat sensing unit is a skinny wire or tube clipped to the evaporator, you can't miss it.

Why does the fridge part of my zanussi freezone fridge/freezer, keep freezing the food?

Hi,the problem you are encountering is as a result of the fact that the thermostat which regulates the cooling temperature in the fridge/freezer is bad hence there is no regulation of the cooling temperature in the fridge/freezer section, hence the food in the fridge freezes up.

The solution is to replace the thermostat of the unit,here is how you go about it;

1.You have to disconnect the fridge from the power source.
2.Locate the thermostat at the bottom of the unit,at the top left corner above the condenser.
3.Now you need to locate the wire ends or wire harness and unplug them.
4.Replace the thermostat,reconnect it back,put the back cover back and you have completed the job.

Take care of yourself

I have a 3 yr old side-by-side. The freezer is freezing ice cream solid even though it's turned all the way down. Food in the bottom two drawers on the refigerator side are freezing. Water has dripped...

Hi, this problem is going to be with the running thermostat. (cold Control). It has gone bad and stays open which in turn will keep the compressor running continually and will cause the fridge to get colder and freeze food. It can normally be located in the control panel inside the fridge (it is the control that has wires, the other is the damper). Locate the thermostat and replace it. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!! Mike

Ed22pwxxn00 setting on 3 top shelf items freeze. Is our 18 yr old fridge going out?

Adjust the freezer damper to a higher number to reduce cold air flow to the fridge section. This will eliminate freezing in the fresh food section.
