Did you purchase the computer from a private party or from a computer store. Also, is the pasword comming up durring the boot up part of the start up or is it when you get to the users? If you purchased from a computer store contact the store and make arangements to return the computer to the store and A. get a new computer or B. have them remove the pasword. If you purchased from a private party then contact the person you purchased the computer from and ask them to either reset the pasword for you or to give you the pasword.

Also, if neither of those solutions work you can usually take it to a repair center and they can remove the password for you. I know that Best Buy's Geek Squad will only charge you 29.00 USD to remove a password.

Bios version A02 password, how to get passed ?

Remove the Power Cord, remove the Case, turn computer onits side so you can see inside (you might need a flashlight). Remove theCMOS Battery which is a silver battery about the of a nickel that is onthe motherboard. You will need a flathead screw driver to pop it out. Leaveit out for an hour or two and then put it back and reboot the computer. When you reboot you will have to go into theBios or System Setup because the computer will have forgotten the date, timeand bios password.

Someone gave me a dell optiplex 240 pc they did not have the password i have tried removing the password jumper and also the battery and still it asks me for a pass word help

Make sure you remove the jumper with the power OFF (not connected)

Disabling a Forgotten Password
NOTICE: This process erases both the system and setup passwords.
1 Open the computer cover.
2 Remove the jumper plug from the PSWD jumper to disable the
password feature.
See "Jumper Settings" to locate the password jumper (labeled
"PSWD") on the system board.
3 Close the computer cover.
4 Reconnect your computer and devices to an electrical outlet, and then
turn them on.
This erases the existing password(s).
5 Enter system setup and verify that the password is disabled.

I'm using Linksys model WRT110, but did not set up a password to protect it from anyone accessing it.

In that case al you need to do is to go into the Setup page of the Linksys, enable WPA and set a new password. For simplicity use the configuration software that came with the router when you bought it.

Can not get into phoenixbios setup utility

Hi

Is it like when you turn on your computer it asks you for a BIOS password.

You need to open the notebook from the back and locate the small battery which looks like the shape of coin,
After locating it take that battery out and turn on your computer,
Once your computer is fully loaded then turn if Off,
Then put the battery back and turn on your computer
Try to go into BIOS.
I am sure you will be able to go into BIOS.

If you have an Win XP installation disk simply insert on the drive, turn off and turn on the computer and run the win XP installation.

If you only want to get rid the password go to there:

I just bought a acer home set up, a few days ago. I gave it a neme, a user name, but NO! password. Now its asking me for a password , that I have no idea of. It gives me an option of a password disk,...

I bet there's a default password, perhaps set at the factory by Acer or the seller (see your invoice), or to the username. It should be noted that your OS is asking you for a password, making it kind of an OS or maker-specific issue, not so general.

I'm not sure any modern OS lets you create a null or weak password either. Make a nice secure one once you log in. Your fingers can remember most of WEINTZL20451719querzintinocrantz for you after the first 2 times.

I just brought a new everex 15.4 gbook and i need help setting it up i follow direction but when i enter my user name and password it always sayin wrong user name or pass word

Did you buy it from a store or a private individual? In either case, go back where you bought it and ask them what the user name and password is. Someone has apparently already installed a user name and password or you are mistyping what you enered during set up.
