Question about Lexmark Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

We have a Lexmark X5250 All in one. In the last two or three weeks we cannot get it to accept any type of paper. We can put in one or more sheets and when we try to print, we get a notice to load paper. Any ideas on what might be happening? The printer is about 18 months old.

I have to select -print first then when I get the "load paper" message, turn the printer off . wate a few seconds then turn it back on. I will then feed the paper and print. I may end up replacint the printer.

Lexmark x5250 flashing green power light

The flashing light could indicate either a communication problem between one of your cartridges and the printer, a short in one of the cartridges, paper jam or the cartridge carrier has stalled. Please follow the steps below to fix the problem:

  1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder. Make sure there are no foreign objects or debris in the feeder.
  2. Open the printer cover and remove both the cartridges.
  3. While the cover is open, ensure there are no paper jams and the cartridge carrier is free from obstructions.
  4. Close the printer cover.
  5. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first.
  7. Close the printer cover and check the light status.
  8. If light on printer is normal, open the printer cover and reinsert the other cartridge. Check the light status.
  9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the light to flash with a new cartridge. You can also try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if the other is faulty.
  10. Load some paper. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Paper reloading on X5250

The paper goes into the automatic sheet feeder on the back of the printer. Please refer to the Lexmark X5250 User's Guide for a more comprehensive instructions on how to use the printer's features and functions.
I hope this helps.

Printer will not accept any type or size of paper initially

Try to make sure there's nothing in the feeder that's blocking the way. Load a single sheet of regular paper. Then try to print. If problem persists, it might be a hardware problem in the printer itself. If that's the case, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support at 1-800-539-6275 to further investigate the problem. That is free of charge. Thank you for choosing Lexmark.

Lexmark X5250 PAPER WONT AUTO-FEED

Very pesty!!! Ok, it may be a paper feeder issue. It could be a partially jammed roller or carriage, open up unit as if you were to change cartridge, use a torch to check for the tiniest paper block or foreign material. You would be surprised what can fall or accidenatlly get in them...funny that, i just cleared a tiny piece of toddler debris from my lexmark, and i missed it the first time. Also, paper sensors can start to go and die, hope it is not this!!! as it will need replacing if it is. If it is printing, it may also be too much info from pc to printer. Does it only do this at certain times or all the time? Try clearing the print jobs memory by printing a small document but click on print icon and choose cancel all print jobs. Wait until it does. Try printing again. Also open notepad as if you were to print it, right click on file and print, and check if printer says ready...indicating it is functioning status. this can help diagnose problems sometimes it will give you an error code or message you need.
