Good luck finding a replacement for the button.  I had the same problem after dropping my phone and having the button jammed in.  I had to pry the button out to stop my phone from continuously turning off and on.  The process basically removed the on/off button and damaged the case, but... my phone works again.

Apple will not do anything about it, and will offer you a replacement for $250 which I think is ridiculous.

You can buy replacement parts online and have fix it yourself, although I have not found the piece that the on/off button is attached to.  I bought a replacement case online for $40US, but it only comes with the side buttons and not the on/off.

ifixit.com has parts and step by step instructions on how to replace parts.

Be aware that doing this will most likely void your warranty, but as I see it... Apple will void the warranty anyway because of the present damage.

Did the same thing. Used an x-acto knife to pry my button out. Works fine now, just not as pretty as before!

try putting it back on the charger & see if it turns on a friend of mine had a jammed lock button & when her phone died thats the only way she could turn it on. if it doesnt than theres most likely a battery problem. Also go in a very dark room & see if it works the backlight could be out on it

I dropped my iphone from the table . It fell on CPU of compuer and then on carpet. Evrything is fine now, but is there any chance that it does not work well in future?

No, its not like that. If it had any problem or screen damaged, it had to stop working immediately. As you say everything is working fine, there should not problem on the phone.

Well what you can do is go to the apple store and ask them on what they can do.
But by working Apple they will give a new one they will swap your phone in other words.
BEFORE YOU TAKE IT TO THE APPLE STORE FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS

My apple iphone has a hang up problem..

just press the on/off button as well as the home button simultaneously for about 10 secs.

This will turn your phone off.

Then start it again normally..
