My Acer Travelmate 4230 laptop just went into Hibernate mode. I dont know why (didnt press anything)and dont know what to do to get it out of hibernation (which button is it?). Tried just switching on the power but it whirrs for a couple of secs then shuts down again. Thanks.

Press and hold the power button for about 10 secs. thisshould force a shutdown. you can then restart.

What happened to your function and F8 keys?

You have to Press and Hold the FN function key at the lower left portion of the keyboard, then hit the key that controls the brightness.

My Acer Aspire One went into hibernate mode by itself and am unable to turn it back on unless I remove the battery and use it solely on electricity mode. Please help.


keep press power button for 1 mins and your laptop will turn off. when you turn on your laptop. disable hibernate mode.
to return to your desktop from hibernate mode press power button quickly. windows will resume

Hi! How can i open the cmos setup program on my acer travelmate 4230?


go to the site from acer and download the bios setup from them
and flash it to yours
look out if you have the rong bios the computer wil dammaged and dont start up again not with any risk you do thad !!!!!!!!!!

My laptop does the same thing - i think it is because you either have a new charger or your laptop is just getting old.
