2 things to try. First, turn the machine off and pull open all the paper trays. Just pull them out about 6-8 inches, turn the machine on with the paper trays pulled out, then one at a time push them back in.
If that doesn't work, then with the machine on, there is a cable that runs from the scanner to the processor. Looking from the front, its on the left side of the machine, on the back, it is a fairly large molex connector. Unscrew the two thumb screws, then unplug it and plug it back in with the machine ON. It will force it into a reset and may boot.
If neither of those work then most likely the software will have to be reloaded due to corrupted software.

One other note I found..

The problem is caused by a software glitch when Tray 1 paper size guides are set to an unrecognised size (for example, the rear guide at A4 and the right guide at 14"). This confuses the machine, which subsequently declares a system fault. This does not affect trays 2, 3 & 4.
SOLUTION: xerox 420dc it indicates that - thumbsup.gif Fixed! thumbsdn.gif Did not fix.

Check the tray 1 settings and ensure that both paper size guides are set to the appropriate paper size, then power off/power on the machine.

Print heads need deep cleaning. If not ink jet, then the drum is damaged (scratched) and needs to be replaced to eliminate the bogus lines.

Describe 102-372 code problem in m24 xerox work centre

Solution : Power OFF the Printer, Wait 45 Seconds, Then Power ON CAUTION: If the machine is powered OFF / powered ON, all information that is stored in the machine's memory may be erased.
NOTE: Before powering OFF, make sure that all copy or print jobs have completely finished. Never power OFF in the following instances:
  • While data is being received.
  • While jobs are being printed.
  • While jobs are being copied.
  • While a scan is being executed.
  1. Power OFF the machine. The power switch is located on the front right side of the machine under the Control Panel.

NOTE: Before the machine is powered ON again make sure the Touch Screen is blank.

  2. Power ON the machine.

NOTE: When the power is ON, a 'Please wait...' message will be displayed. This message indicates that the machine is warming up and cannot be used. After 45 seconds, the machine becomes ready for use.

If the issue is not resolved repeat steps 1 and 2 a second time.

Hello. I recently bought model TC-L32C22 for the waiting room of an office. Every morning when I turn on the tv, I have to go through the setup of the channels again. Why is this? Did I do the initial...

Could the unit be losing power overnight? If the TV is on a switched outlet, change outlets (or make sure the switch stays on). Did you actually finish the setup? The setup screen will continue to appear if you press Exit before it is completed. You should have seen the "Setup is complete" message.

If you are correcting the time as well as repeating the scan, the TV is probably losing power overnight.
If this is power related, consider a UPS that will power the TV overnight in Standby mode. It uses 100 W when on and 0.3 W in standby.

I hope this helps.

Trashing xerox 420dc due to main failure. I've heard there is a hard drive or memory card that I should remove. Is there and where?

Hi Scunning84, I don't have the solution but I too am trying to figure out where the hard drive is in this copier? Were you successful in locating it? Thanks for any help you can offer. Carrie

Xerox C20 displaying "Scanner Locked" message. Won't copy.

  1. Press the power switch to the OFF (O) position. The power switch is located on the lower, left side of the machine.

  2. Pull the scan lock switch toward the front of the machine to unlock the Scanner.

NOTE: The scan lock switch is located on the bottom of the Scanner Module. Make sure the scan lock is completely free. It sometimes hangs at the halfway point.

  3. Press the power switch to the ON (|) position. A 'Warming Up, Please Wait' message will be displayed on the Display Screen. Warm up time is less than 40 seconds from power ON and less than 25 seconds from the Power Saver mode.

try removing the battery and removing the adaptor press and hold down the power button for 5-10 seconds then let got this will power drain your system board noy turn the system on using the battery only without any adaptors to charge or power the system, try turning the system on if the system turnes on leave it turned on for a couple of hours then conenct your sysem adaptor monitor if the battery light and the battery indicator on the lower right of the screen in windows woll indicate that the system is chargin if it is then I believe everything should be fine the blue indicator is for your system if it is blue then your system is turned on and has power if it turned orange and blnking then the battery will be more likely be almost out of juice or may need charging.

Xerox ducu centre 420dc wonte come to ready. no error code turn it off and on clears sometimes but takes a lot of trys

When the machine comes on. There is a cable that runs from the scanner to the processor. When the machine is ON, unplug it and re connect it . It should reboot. That cable most likely needs replaced. But try disconnecting and reconnecting it with the machine on.
