What sort of squealing? While it prints, when you first turn it on? The time during printing would tell a lot about what it is. Post back some better details and I might be steer you in the right direction.
You have a problem with the device plugged into EIO slot 1. Most likely it's a JetDirect card. Turn power off and reseat the card. Power up, if problem is still there put the card in the other EIO slot. There should be 2 EIO slots. If it still fails you will have to replace the JetDirect

Its possible that you just got a bad toner cartridge. There is a chip on the toner cartridge that could be bad. I would shut the printer off and then back on. Confirm that the tape has been removed then firmly reset the toner cartridge back into the printer. If that doesn't work then try another or the previous cartridge. This could be an issue with the printer but I find that very unlikely.
From the Control Panel, go to Printers & Scanners (or Devices and Printers in Win 7) and make the HP printer the default printer.
Next print, don't hit the "print" icon on your software, but instead click the File text-link and choose "print". This will bring up the print menu and show you where your printed docs have been going. Change the printer's submenu choice to the HP laserjet.
