Check to make sure you hear the vac. motor is running when in that position. The switch in the handle could be bad if it is not.

Eureka Optima Lightweight suction weak on bare floor, hose only works when dial is turn to floor?

I think it is normal. My favorite setting is the dial is turned to bare floor. If you set your vacuum to hose, then you need to adjust the height (do not set the dial to the bare floor).

Hoover savvy upright has no suction on carpet what's wrong?

9 times out of ten this is the response when you have a broken belt. The suction is the same but nothing gets picked up because there is no brush turning. Turn your machine off and see if you can turn the roller easily by hand. If you can you will need to change the vacuum belt.

I have a hoover savvy that the rollers wont turn. I've taken it apart to make sure the brushes are not caught but nothing happens. I only used this vacuum once. It was a floor model when purchased. I just...

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. I have to say that if it is not as simple as a belt - I assume that when you checked that the brushes weren't caught that you also checked that the belt was still on?. You shouldtake it back to the store you bought it from. Even a floor model should last longer than 1 vacuum!. the store should have replaced the belt before you took it home. Get them to check it for you.

Hoover savvy upright, replaced belt, but brushes will not turn

One of the common problems with the Savvy models is the upper handle switch. However if it is newer, you may also have an issue with the lower cable. To test it, turn on switch in carpet mode, and at the bottom rear, wiggle thr exposed black cable. if the roller starts and stops then it is bad and needs replacement. the cost of the part is about $10 but labor intensive to replace.

With the unit standing upright, double check the clear plastic air passages on the sides of the vacumn to see if they are clogged.

Hoover Savvy self propulsion not working

The switch contacts are burned out and the switch must be replaced. This link sells the whole handle with switch but, check your serial number to be sure to get the right one. If you can use a Philips head screwdriver, you can do this easily.

Help

as the hose fits into the base (if i am correct) the power at the base should be fine, make sure the base is clean and free from blockage, you say the brush doesn't spin, has the belt broken, if so replace it, (very cheap) and only a couple of screws to undo, the roller not rotating will effect the power of suction dramatically, start from there and see how you go if i have helped please rate me
