Breeze ceiling fan not working

we have exact same problem. The boxes the fans came in say Aloha Breeze. Bought at Wal-mart. We installed 5 of these fans in a rental 9 months ago. Two of the fans have stopped working and one of them is on the blink. Lights work but fans do not. Husband said he thinks it is probably the switch. Is that the same thing as the starter? I must have thrown out our instruction manuals for these fans...I found the boxes but no instruction manual. I am trying to figure out if the switch is a 2,3,4,5 etc wire? Does anybody know. The style of the fan is M. I found a phone number on the box 1-800-295-4488 a recording of a woman came on wanting to jknow if i've met any fun people lately and gave me another toll free # to dial. I don't think i want to go down that road. Does anyone have th manufacturers name or phone number?

I bought one of the Aloha Breeze ceiling fans 2 years ago...it suddenly stopped working, so I tried replacing the switch which was unsuccessful. I called the toll free number since the papers said not to return the thing to the store which was of course Walmart. The person said to return the ceiling fan to them which I did to the address she gave me over the phone. I have not heard anything from them since. I know the fan was delivered to them. All I asked for was a replacement or reimbursement for fan and shipping back to them. Sometimes it pays to pay more and get name brand and good rep.

Have the same problem. However, they did send me a new capacitor, but this did not fix the problem. Now they want me to send them the fan (at my expense). But read that someone else sent it to them and did not get the fan back......

we put two of these fans in our home about 2 1/2 years ago. WalMart replaced each one twice because the fan stopped working and again we have one broken down. I contacted WalMart Corporate and was told to contact aloha at 800-295-4448...I guess I will see how it goes.

    thanks Dana in NE

We have a 52" Aloha Breeze fan that stopped working this evening - fan and light. The remote control was burning up - after reading the other posts I hate to see what else is burning! Sounds like it would be safer to buy a new, reputable fan than spend more money on replacement parts.

We were able to get 3 fans running again by replacing the capacitor which had melted in all 3 fans. On one of the fan's the casing around the motor was extremely hot, which prompted us to act quickly. I suppose the fan had been trying to start itself. We purchased the capacitors at an electrical supplier at a cost of $15 each. We were not able to locate the type of capacitors which came with the fan. I am now looking for replacement capacitors at a lower cost if possible. Does anyoe have suggestions of a reputable online dealer for capacitors at a reasonable cost? I would like to keep some on hand.

I called the Aloha and they sent me a capacitor at no charge. I don't know how to fix it but they did give me the replacement for free.

does the fan wobble at high speed? if so change the order of the blades to try & balance it.i.e. number the blades on a piece of tape on each--switch blade # 1 & #3-better or worse? 2&5;better or worse?etc. untill it runs smoothest.

It's most likely the receiver for the remote (transmitter) -- it's located under the cover at the top of the fan -- will need replacing.

The fan will not make a breeze at any speed

There is a switch to make it turn the opposite direction. you will need to flip the switch. Otherwise the fan blades are on upside down.

Is there something specific you need to know?

Kill power at the breaker for saftey. Mount the bracket to the ceiling first. there should be a small hook on the ceiling bracket that you can hang the fan motor from while you do the wiring.

The blue wire and black wire on the fan should both be connected to the black wire in your house wiring. Attach the fan blades to the motor once it is in place.
