Hello please can you tell me how to activate my nokia voicemail? for some reason its been de activated!

I have steps below on how to turn it on and since your concern is to turn it off please do the vice versa. Hope it helps.
Forward calls to your voicemail or another phone number Your phone is ringing, but you can't answer? Let the call go to your
voicemail, or forward it to another number. Call forwarding is a
network service.
1. Select settings > calls > call forwarding.
2. Select when to forward the incoming voice calls:
all voice calls - Forward all calls.
if busy - Forward when busy.
if not answered - Forward when not answered.
if out of reach - Forward when the phone is switched off or out of
network coverage for a certain length of time.
if not available - Forward when busy, when not answered, when the
phone is switched off, or when out of network coverage.
3. Select activate > to voice mailbox or to other number.
4. If if not answered or if not available is selected, set the length of
time after which a call is forwarded

You apparently have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system. They will also be able to tell you whether you can turn off this feature completely.

Hi, there is a general short cut for activating and de-activating call barring on Nokia cell phone..

*33*0000# to activate call barring,

while #33#0000# to de-activate call barring.

It means that you have set up that incoming calls will be diverted (to your voicemail usually) when your "line is engaged", ie when you talk with someone on the phone.

There are 3 diverts: divert on busy, on not available (switched off or out of range) and on no answer (when you don't answer after a certain period).
Depending on operator, they can be activated or deactivated individually, or all three at the same time. The latter option is bad in my opinion - who needs divert on busy? If the phone is busy, try again in a couple of minutes I say...

from my exsperience with cell phone as far as i know you need to call in to your sevice provider and ask them to deactivate it.
