19 in flat panel tv

I'm having the same problem. My set is out of warranty. Will not turn on with remote or on top of the set. In reading another site, it was suggested that the TV is in some sort of protection mode. When I try to turn it on, the red light goes green for a second, then flashes back to red. A bulb replacement is suggested, at half the price of a new set. Keep me posted if you get a workable solution.
