Printer shut down and won't turn on brand new

Just bought a hp7680 3 weeks ago and had it working for 3days until it shutdown all by itself and won't turn back on again. I have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in to several different wall sockets to no success. Do you think it is the power cord or something else

Try unplugging everything that is plugged in. Ethernet cable phone cord or usb cable too. these things are very sensitive. I am getting the same error message and think I have traced it down to the wireless router I am using. I can print fin from the desk top I have hooked up but when I try to use the other wired port or the wireless with my laptop and print it immediately gives me the same error. I can talk to the printer from every computer I put on the network but when I print from anything but the desk top(hooked up through a hard line on the router too) it gives me the error. If I get anywhere on this I will post what I find as it may help you out too.

When you plug it in, (lexmark pro 205), there is a white light in the display box but no words or pictures and the on button does not light up. the only way to shut it off is by unpluging. It does...

Try to rebrick your printer. Pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds. This will give enough time for the printer to reset itself.

You may also try to plug the printer to a different known working power outlet in the wall to identify if it's a faulty power outlet issue.

If that doesn't help, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

Won't print just comes up with ink system has failed

Reset the system by holding down the OK, Cancel, Black, and Color buttons down at the same time and turn the printer off.

Keep holding the buttons down until the printer shuts off and the turn it back on.

You will have to turn the printer off twice and then it will recalibrate.

Make sure you have new cartiges in the printer so that it can reset.

Thanks

Out of paper message

Problem is you use Works not Word at home. Trouble is, you don't know what version of Word your school has, but it sure doesn't have Works.. Open your document at home, click save as , then drop down to "Word 97-2000&6.0/95.RFT(*.doc). ".. chances are your school has one of these versions of Word. Resend to school, open and print.. Good luck.

Printer cycles on/off and displays "improper shut down"

Got the same problem following a message "Printer ink failure" code 0xc19a0035. Instructions say to shut down using button on/off. But printer refused to shutdown. After 30 minutes, I disconnected power cable. Removed cartridges. Reloaded cartridges. Reconnected power cable and got "Improper shutdown" message with continuous cycle. Solution: 1. While the printer is still turned on, unplug all cables and cords at the back of the printer.
2. Unplug the power cord also from the wall outlet...
3. Wait for two minutes.
4. Reconnect power cord to the wall outlet first.
5. Press and hold the pound (#) and six (6) buttons.
6. While holding down the two buttons, reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer and after two seconds, release pound and six buttons.
7. Turn on the printer if it turns off... and it's fixed.
