Sounds like you're not packing the coffee tightly enough into the unit. You've got to tamp it quite tightly...that's why the pumps are so strong. Each 'atmosphere' is 15 pounds of pressure. My son also likes to make his by doing two double loads to get one espresso cup.

When I use the filter after a previous cup and it is still wet the coffee comes out very watery and undrinkable. When the filter is dry in the morning the coffee is perfect.

I'd suggest you try tamping with a bit more pressure, watery coffee is typically the result of water getting "around" the ground coffee as opposed to getting forced through it.

My tassimo coffee comes out watery

Make sure you push the lid down all the way before putting the clamp down on the front.

I've noticed that the back of the lid on my vivy (t12) can get stuck up (even with the clamp down) causing the water jet to not be inserted all the way - which produced very weak coffee.

How do you clean the coffee maker? My wife put vingar in it to clean and ran it through the coffee making process. Now...after running several cups of water through it we still have a vingar taste. ...

Lol! Your wife did the correct thing. (Hate to say it)Vinegar is acidic and eats away at all of the impurities that tap water leaves behind. To clear the vinegar, follow these instructions to a tee. Run one shot glass of bleach...yes bleach...through the unit. Follow this by two or three cycles of plain water. Your coffee will taste better than ever! And get this, bleach kills 99.999 percent of all bacteria known to man! Look it up! Hope this helps!

No 'real' coffee taste or crema - despite following instructions

Set the machine for the finest coffee and the least water.
You should get a decent espresso.
For a regular cuppa, keep the settings the same and make either a medium coffee combined with a small coffee (jolt) or
make two small coffees.
I have this machine and the crema is nice at this setting.

No real water run through coffee part

Your problem can be cause if you are using more than 7-7.5 gr of coffee. The coffee might be very fine so you should use more gross grounded coffee. Or the vebration water pressure pum is not working or is making presuure less than 9 bars so it might need cleaning or replacing.
Good Luck

Shots too watery

1, Check the grind on the grinder. Imagine grounds as rocks and sand, if you are using rocks then the water will run too fast and with sand it will run too slow.
2, If using an automatic machine(water volumes are pre-measured), check to make sure that you are getting the correct volume(3ozs fro a 2ozs shot, and 4ozs for a 3ozs shot), an once of water stays in the coffee during extraction.
3, Adjust the tamp(packing pressure) of the coffee, fill the portafilter with coffee a little over the top, then level it out and tamp to the fill ring on the inside of the basket.

Espresso is dark and rich at first; then shifts to water

This is suppsed to happen, every espresso machine out there on the market does this.

All the taste for the coffe comes in the first couple of seconds and after that it gets less and less.
So the problem is not that it gets lighter and lighter, but that you dont get enough taste in the start of the brewing.

And this can be caused by alot of things.
Bad beans?
Not set the grinding to fine?
it will not heat enought and thereby not get enough taste.
etc.

Sounds like there is something wrong with the machine. Could be the thermostats or maybe something like an internal leak that is causing the machine to overheat. It sounds to me like you need someone to take a look at it..
