The laptop was formatted with Windows XP and audio drivers were deleted during OS installation. I now need audio drivers for the laptop.

Do you still have the mobo(motherboard) cd? If yes then use that to reinstall the drivers of your audio. But if your sound card is not built-in then you need to download the drivers from the manufacturers web site.
