Re: there is a sound but no picture
I would try buying a second Audio/Video cable to see it were just the cable, or if it were the console. If it is the console, return the cord you just purchased, (i would suggest buying it at circuit, because they have a good return policy), Call microsoft and have them repair the console.

Sounds like either your game disk is too scratched or your console's scanner is too old. You can start by cleaning your disk first, and see if that fixes it. Or if you can borrow somebody else's console and try out the disk. If it works then it's your console's issue, if not it's the game desk.
1. problem you need to install an hacking software in your GAME folder 2. problem, this happened to me before, but you have to make a folder named ISO in the root of the memory stick, then put your games in that. 3. problem your games has to be either .CSO or .ISO
it might bea problem with your actual video cord that plugs into the tv.... umm my xbox has a lot of issues too but ive never had this. id suggest you let it say off for a while and try somebody elses cords that connect the xbox to the tv to see if its an issue with your xbox or if its with your cords. ill also suggest you call microsoft and they can troubleshoot...
I think that you should have a button on the remote which lets you switch to the auxilliary connection of the TV (it won't switch automatically). Try putting it on AV1 AV2 or AUX or such modes you have to refer to your TV manual to see how to switch exactly to the Video Line in Connection.
it sounds like the game gear is breaking down. i wouldn't bother repairing it as i have owned one previously and the repairman said it would cost me £30 - £40 to have it repaired and my game gear had the same problems as yours. you can replace it as there are loads of game gears to choose from on ebay.co.uk - just type game gear on search in all categories and a huge list comes up. i bought one from there a few days ago and it cost me £8.49 and that included 4 games! i hope this helps.
You must clean your game connector as well. That should stop the blinking. Brand new connector with dirty games will still ...blink...blink.
If you can open your games to clean ...it's even better so you will see how dirty they are. 20+ years they sure need some TLC.
If you can't open the game...take a q-tips and a cleaner and rub the game connector. When I say rub ..put some pressure when you do it.Some use rubbing alcohool which is not my method of cleaning and other use windex. Still not my cleaning solution. Then dry the connector before inserting the game in the system. Good Luck.
