I'm having trouble finding a remote control that works for a durabrand ht-395 home theater system. I found one but it's $40.00 and that is very expensive for a remote control. Is there something else that...
Although any universal remote will work if your reciever isn't really old, it is always impossible to tell how well they will work or what functions will work. Although a home theatre receiver doesn't have any advanced functions.
The safest thing is always to contact the manufacturer and see if you can get a replacement remote. This is very expensive and not always possible, but it guarantees full functionality.
The next step would be to buy a really cheap universal remote and see if it works, which it should for the home theatre. I would guess you only need power, volume, and perhaps function changing right? If so, a cheap one should work. If that doesn't work, then you are pretty much confined to buying a really expensive one with more functional control in the hopes it will work, but you never can tell until you try it unfortunately. I have an RCA home theatre receiver that is quite old and it's a good thing i still have my remote, because none of my many universal remotes that I have work with it....
