Okay so I had the same problem as all you guys, fiddled around with the buttons for a couple seconds (literally) and worked it out The following instructions are for tADP6000: 1- press and hold 'SET/LIGHT' button 2- it should say 'LIGHT' and 'OFF' flashing, now press 'MODE' until you reach the screen you desire, then use the 'START/STOP' and 'LAP/RESET' to change between 12hr/24hr; time; date etc etc. hope this helps

This is a link to a website that has OTS watches on it. Click on the OTS watch you have and there is a manual selection. The instructions are a bit hazy but basically you have to press the mode button 3 times, the reset button to get to what you want to change, and then the start button as many times as needed to change it to what you want. I finally corrected my watch time and date using it. Thankfully!
hold the left, bottom button (marked ....) for a few seconds....then
press the top right button (marked with 1 dot) to change between the
hour, minute, date etc. use the bottom right button to advance the
flashing number, and when finished setting time and date, use the
bottom left button to stop the numbers flashing and return the watch to
normal. hope this helps, this is also how to change the date for the
other question asker (works on 2 other starck/fossil watches i have and
i assume the controls are the same).
Use this page to download a copy of CASIO watch manuals in PDF format. To download a PDF file, enter the four-digit (or three-digit) module number marked on the back cover of your watch.
Time and Location If you hold in the light, start and the reset button for a few seconds a screen will appear with the 12h or 24 h clock setting and also the date and country. Once you have that screen if you press the mode button it will move over the date and clock etc then you just press the reset button and start button to choose the date and time. Once you have changed the date and time to the correct date press the light button, start button and reset button and it will save the settings.
Alarm Hold in the light, start and the reset button for a few seconds a screen will appear press the mode button it will move over the date and clock etc then you just press the reset button and start button to choose the date and time. Use the light button to set the screen.
the crown is a screw down type to keep the watch water tight. Unscrew the crown (what you refer to as the dial) and you will then be able to set the date, time, etc. and be able to wind the watch manually. P.S. You unscrew the crown by rotating it counter-clockwise.
hold right side buttons . time will flash set using top button, then use lower button to move through each aspect of menu. You use the top button to make changes then bottom to go to next option. Lower left button to exit
Hope it helps

Try the link above for a manual. It is NOT the same watch, but does have some buttons named similarly to the 1440. Go to the Time and Date section. The key was to hold down the SET button till the seconds flashes, then use START/SPLIT to adjust the value and MODE to toggle to the next field etc. Best of luck
