Hi, I've been using Dell 1600n all-in-one laser printer for almost an year now. I have it connected to a network cable, and using it as a network printer. Today the printer stopped responding to my print command. After trying to ping the server from command prompt, it did not respond either. I checked the connection on the back of the printer and found that the NIC light was blinking continuously. I pulled the jack out and still the light kept blinking. I've tried turning the printer off and back on, but still no luck. I did a reset of network configuration of the printer, but no luck. I didnt find anything the user manual or owners guide. Can anyone please help me diagnosing the problem and finding a solution for it. Any help will be much appreciated.
I found one of these printers in a parts bin and it looked like it was in great condition so I said what the heck, I'll try it out. Had the blinking light problem and figured it was a nic card because all functions via USB worked fine. If I plugged in a network cable, it froze up all functions except the LCD menu.
Took off the side panel and low and behold, it had taken a bad fall and the NIC card's connector to the main borad was busted. The main borad was fine though so it does everything fine via USB. Its a modulear NIC card so replacing it would probably work, but the chance of finding a replacement NIC card for the printer? Slim to none, it doesnt even have a model number. Only if I come across another one of these printers. Oh well, sweet printer for free, even if it only works via USB.

Please let me know if you got this solved, I have exactly the same problem, sometimes the upper NIC light will come on but I still cant ping the printer, does not matter what ip address I use. Also if I use a crossover cable it wont work.
I assume you have unpluged and repluged the printer?
